By the way, we got off topic, so allow me to circle back to the premise of the thread, which is:

HEY TONYA WOLDRIDGE, IS THIS THE DIRECTION YOU'RE ENVISIONING FOR "YOUR" COMMUNITY OR DO YOU HAVE SOME OTHER IDEAS, WOULD LOVE TO HEAR THEM, XOXO

The posters are anything but... what? Hominems?

I nominate TOZ as the poster boy of positive change, you should have read his posts from 2008 my gawd was he lordin'.

I'd make an edgelord alias, but it would be redundant.

Having been on other forums, I doubt you'd fare any better.

Autocorrect error and fix is a Petersorian someone who likes Jordan Peterson why not just use the term fan.

So by that logic because I like using Mr. Clean as a product I’m a Mrcleanian .

People need to stop making up imaginary words it’s reaching peak silliness at this point.

Metric System my advice don’t engage and flag the post as the poster is not really interested in hearing your side of the story

I didn't. Jordan is right about me. *hangs head* If we hadn't already sent him to the Gender Gulag for calling a trans woman "buddy", I'd owe him quite the apology right now.

Marquis d'Toz ?

This is perhaps my finest alias. It does not get the credit it deserves.

What is the issue with Jordan Peterson? His twelve rules for life are kinda self-evident.

I love to not be surprised.

Deeply sorry to my trans friends for linking a BBC article in there, but his refusal to use gender-neutral pronouns tells us a lot.

For those who hate reading: a video! KC is so thoughtful.

By the way, for those who suggest this is some tangential detail about him you couldn't possibly be expected to know, Googling his name alone turns up his second-most recent Tweet, in which he appears on master college-student-debater Ben Shapiro's podcast to talk about the "gender spectrum". Wonder what they're talking about in there.

(Also, just as a treat, have a video detailing at length why Ben Shapiro is a poser clown who wouldn't know a serious intellectual debate if it bit him in the ass.)

I see your video, and raise you two.

His Twelve Rules are also pretty interesting, because while technically true (it is so, so easy to offer "technically true" platitudes like "clean your room" and "take breaks" and "don't stress too much about politics", self-help books like his are a dime a dozen), a lot of his writing clearly comes from a very conservative framework. "Don't try to improve the world until you've improved yourself" is just code for, "Prioritize personal responsibility and neglect any idea of social or communal responsibility. Politics should be the domain of the happy, healthy and hearty--and preferably people around Jordan Peterson's age who are well-off and comfortable."

Is it strange I had never heard of these people? Are they even somewhat well known in the US? The only Shapiro I know is Greg Shapiro, and he is er…. not very conservative to say the least.

I know you know this already but for anyone who might fall for it;

He espouses pseudo facts, conspiracy theories, equates believing in gender identity to believing in the flat world theory, buoys and promotes alt-right & neo-nazi messaging, actively weaponises his right wing fan base to hound his critics, we could go on but I'm sure that's enough to paint a picture.

Jordan Peterson is Canadian, Ben Shapiro is American. As with many political commentators, like Alex Jones, they're well-known in certain circles. Trans people don't really have the luxury of ignoring people like this, because they shape the discourse we have to navigate to survive.

Do you think that the community is headed in the right direction and if not, what are you planning to do about it?

I think It's pretty clear they havent had a plan from the start.
