Aquatic Armors

Conversions

Hey there!

My players recently arrived in Escadar in the Extinction Curse AP and im going to have
the azarketi embassy play a role in a personal storyline.

For that id like to convert the aquatic armors of the 1e version:
d20pfsrd

I have never played 1e so im unsure how to go about that. In 1e they are listed
under special materials but have specific armor statistics.

Would you convert those as special materials(coral/clamshell/chitin) or its own armor?
What stats should those have? Or has maybe someone done this already and you could point me in a direction?

I think the confusion might be stemming from the fact that both Paizo and third party publishers made stats for aquatic armor.

And honestly, unless you are really set on mucking with the statistics, I'd suggest giving your player normal armors, breastplates and chain mail and whatnot, but describe them as being made of grown shells or chitin instead of metal. It will very likely never come up in the campaign that you have to worry about hardness or anything at all. If it does, consider granting them the same durability as wood or stone instead of steel.

Thank you, i'll houserule it as special materials for standard armors.
Material stats will be somewhat between wood and stone and clamshell will get noisy and flexible.

We just finished the black pudding fight so hardness seems to have some importance. Half of the party now needs new armor or basicly anything to cover themselves.
