Fireworks Technician

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I have been digging into the Guns and Gears book over the last few days and have found my personal favorite archetype - the Fireworks Technician. As I was going through the feats, I came up with a few questions.

The Archetype feat grants infused reagents that allow you to create fireworks or to be used to fuel the rest of the archetype, however there don't seem to be any fireworks in any of the other published materials that I have looked through. Is there a collection of fireworks in another book somewhere?

Secondly, if there are no additional fireworks, what is the point of the Expert Fireworks Crafter feat if there are no fireworks that can be crafted with a level above 1?

Dwarven Daisy has levels 1 and 3: yeah, there currently isn't much use for Expert Fireworks Crafter but hopefully they'll add more in the future to make it worth it later.

The on the spot fireworks it can creates are pretty good, it makes a very flavorful free-archetype.
Some snares are described as being fireworks so you might allow them.

Coughing dragon display uses your advanced alchemy level to determine the counteract level, which is so far the only use I know of. There isn't really a firework traits so existing items are probs up to the DM for determining if they work.

This archetype though I think is one of the moat egregious examples of why their method of handling basic alchemy benefits is terrible. It would be a fun flavor choice for an alchemist, and gives them a number of nice reactions, but having to split their reagents between advanced alchemy, quick alchemy and fireworks is just ooof, especially when those some of those fireworks take multiple reagents
