Buckler Expertise vs. Duelling Parry

I was wondering of there was any big difference between buckler expertise and dueling parry when choosing to go down either feat path for swash?

The only big trade off I can find is duelling parry leaves you with a tint bit less bulk while buckler expertise gives the the option of special materials for buckler/buckler attacks (which can be covered by carrying a light mace or even a gauntlet). I also didn't find any magical bucklers. Thanks for any insights!

One of the impactful difference I found ( not sure whether it's intended or not) is that the improved version of a spellguard shield, which is the reflective shield, shifts from being a steel shield to a buckler.

It's kinda strong IMO.

Apart from that, a buckler can be made out of special materials, and because so used in different situations to trigger weaknesses or stop regeneration.

Finally, there are feats that could benefit from having a buckler rather than a free hand ( though the buckler counts as a free hand) like reflexive shield, which allows the character to get the circumstance bonus also with reflex saves.

Couldn't find a way to benefit from the shield block reaction with a buckler ( not yet).

The biggest difference is that the buckler hand can be occupied, just not by a weapon. So you can carry a potion at all time or a lantern/torch.

Since a buckler is a shield, I can't find any rules that prevent Shield Block with a Buckler. Just take the General Feat, Shield Block and us it with your buckler...

Glamorous Buckler is tailor made for Fencers and Scoundrels.

It was pretty clear I meant to make a good use of shield block without letting the buckler explode...

If you don't plan on getting to 10th level to get buckler dance, you might as well use a shield, unless you want to use a free hand to hold a potion or something.

Yep. It was soooooo clear that I went an' double checked the rules 'bout it. /sarc

Just in case I'm not clear: nothing you wrote even remotely suggests you meant anything about without letting the buckler explode...

What can I say... the fact you "doublechecked" a so so standard and basic rule should have probably let yourself at least guess... anyway, there's currently no way to benefit from a proper shieldblock ( not even 1x ) with a buckler, against an average enemy of the party level ( pebbles could help though, but only at lower levels ).
