Enlarge person in Undead companions

Rules Questions

Hello, I currently use an Undead Lord Cleric who has the corpse companion, I was on how I can buff him to help me in combat more effectively and I thought "enlarge person" for being humanoid but my master says that the Undead cannot be the target of this spell because they have a trait that says "Immunity to any effect that requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects or is harmless)" is this correct? And if so, is there any other way to make my company grow?

Your GM is correct. In addition, enlarge person can only affect humanoid creatures. Undead do not have the humanoid type; they have the undead type. See the ranger's Favored Enemy class feature for more details on creature type.

Unfortunately, the Corpse Companion doesn't draw rules from other similar abilities like Animal Companion or Familiar. If it did, it might get an ability called Share Spells, which among other things typically allows your companion to be affected by personal spells that are against type.

Share Spells wrote:

Animal Companion - Share Spells (Ex): The druid may cast a spell with a target of “You” on her animal companion (as a spell with a range of touch) instead of on herself. A druid may cast spells on her animal companion even if the spells normally do not affect creatures of the companion's type (animal). Spells cast in this way must come from a class that grants an animal companion. This ability does not allow the animal to share abilities that are not spells, even if they function like spells.

Familiar - Share Spells: The wizard may cast a spell with a target of “You” on his familiar (as a touch spell) instead of on himself. A wizard may cast spells on his familiar even if the spells do not normally affect creatures of the familiar's type (magical beast).

Eidolon - Share Spells (Ex): The summoner may cast a spell with a target of “you” on his eidolon (as a spell with a range of touch) instead of on himself. A summoner may cast spells on his eidolon even if the spells normally do not affect creatures of the eidolon's type (outsider). Spells cast in this way must come from the summoner spell list. This ability does not allow the eidolon to share abilities that are not spells, even if they function like spells.

If your GM allows 3rd-party material, there is Siphon Spell. Aside from that, I don't know of anything regarding class abilities or feats. That said, if you wish to have an item that does this, Craft Wondrous Item is not limited only to the items listed in books or on the various websites that host these items. You can make or pay to have made something of your own. This item would likely cost a significant amount to be on par with other items that affect undead. Perhaps a necklace that you can put on an undead corpse that allows it to receive any spell you cast upon it.

Cleric, Archetype Undead Lord{Non PFS} (Deity must have Death(undead) domain, no second domain) Corpse Companion (skeleton or zombie) of (Clr Lvl-1)HD dismissable and takes 8hrs to obtain new one with NO COST, bonuses to undead healing (but not harm living) spells etc.
The biggest advantage of the class is the 'free' disposable undead companion. I don't think the class is that great overall. Undead at 25GP/HD are pretty cheap to make normally.

The Agent of the Grave prestige class lets you target your undead with mind affecting effects that would effect their original type. That opens up options like Good Hope and Heroism.

If you have a friend who can cast Polymorph Any Object, there's also some wacky things you can do with that.
