I'm pretty sad about all of this. I'm inclined to believe Crystal and Jessica, and I'm going to miss Sara Marie and Diego. I want Paizo to do better by its employees.

I just don't know what to think or do beyond that.

That is frankly where a lot of us are. My hope is for a better official response than the one we got that will outline a process to move forward. I’m willing to take my dollars elsewhere if what comes out of this is unsatisfactory - but I’m not fully sure yet what I consider satisfactory given the wide ranging nature of the charges.

For the moment it is wait and see, and then if necessary cancel my sub.

I'm still in a bit of a haze over all this (and no, it's not from drinking or partaking of adult intoxicants).

This is Gen Con week(+end).

That we're getting *anything* remotely resembling a response from anyone at Paizo can only be credited to the fact that the pandemic (and a significant concern over safety to workers, volunteers, and players) forced Paizo into the position of Online.

IF this had happened during an 'in-person' Gen Con, odds are there'd be silence for a minimum of a few days post-con to a few weeks.

And that was WITH a greater number of members on the team to handle the situation.

In a pandemic-truncated workforce with exceptionally increased workflow demands, that we've gotten as much communication as we have is impressive.

tl;dr: Just because some people are wired to the Internet 24/7 doesn't mean everyone is.

Of course I am a "corporatist" because I disagree with your position. Just see the below post after this one, some in this thread and other threads. For many no matter how many time Paizo says " we will do better give us time" means they are doing nothing. It is not enough.

Could you pick my position out of a lineup?

You’ve mischaracterize the tone and tenor of this argument routinely. You mischaracterize the people making those arguments, and then you decry that you are the victim being dogpiled and mischaracterize by us.

A lot of the restatements people have made about your arguments jibe with what you have actually said. I invited you earlier to clarify - you instead just went after someone else in a now deleted portion of a thread.

The best way to be heard is to stop talking over everyone else, and the best way to respond to what we’re saying is to listen.

So can you pick my position out of a lineup?

Ah, but you forget that the card says 'Moops'.

Edit: Looks like (OPF) was a legal entity only and I was incorrect at Tonya being an actual employee of OPF vs Paizo. Feel free to drop the confusion aspects there as it relates to her!
Oh, the creation of the OPF? Yer welcome. I will neither confirm nor deny I was one of two people who were instrumental in pointing out WA state labor law in relation to volunteers for a for profit company.

I think I pointed that out about 10 years ago though. :-P

Why on earth are you two still responding to each other?

Like I said, one of two…

P.S. If someone sees Sara Maries or Diego's patreon or gofundme, message it to me.

Diego's Patreon

I couldn't find a Patreon or GoFundMe for Sara Marie, but if you have extra bucks, you can put it toward Daigle's medical expenses

Good to know about both links, The Minis Maniac and Ambrosia Slaad. :)

PS. prolly will favorite everything in this and other threads- but that will be for some later efforts. ;p

And why should Tonya say anything? Ms. Price made allegations against her to which I wouldn’t respond either. I still have fond recollections of Tonya telling Ms. Price to “Stay the f+!@ out of my VO forum.” Good times, that. As CS falls under her purview now, it would be her responsibility to inform employees of their termination. Even if she disagrees with that decision! So again, why should she say anything?

Because all evidence points to Tonya actively covering up harassment of a VC to multiple members of the community. Yeah I get it you don't like Price. I don't either. Still doesn't mean that she isn't wrong.

It’s not entitlement when you’re outraged at people you care about are mistreated.

If you don’t like Paizo’s “appeasement” in their content as your conspiring to think it as then why are you here? The “appeasement” which is to say, make the game and setting welcome as possible and not indulge bigotry has been around since the inception.

Yes, I understand you have issues with how she has handled PFS matters for your local lodge, and for others. I have my own. So? How is this germane to the firing of Sara Marie?

And there you are - taking things out of context after accusing others of doing the same.

1) Nope. My side is talking about canceling our Subs and directly supporting devs via any Patreon's they may have. We aren't a monolith, you could begin by taking that time to read what people are actually saying.

2) That wasn't what poster was saying, he was saying that us hoping to foster change via communicating with Paizo was a fantasy and in the real world corporations don't do that.

2a) If you think Paizo is developing an inclusive product to appease fans then you aren't paying much attention to the devs at Paizo.

3)No someone directly compared this to a lynching. Those were their actual words.

4.) Email complaints is a valid response and the same person who called these threads a lynching said that those were an abusive behavior in one of their many screeds about why we should all just stop.

So to sum up - you're just as guilty of taking things out of context. You're lumping all of us urging for change together into a single group you can complain about and then get offended when you get lumped in with others, and you're just here for a fight.

@Rysky.
I already responded as to why I'm still here a few posts back.

Ah. There is new statement now

Actionable steps to move forward, clearly laid out, addresses some issues without calling them out in a way that admits fault, but does admit to a need to improve.

All in all, the kind of statement many of us were asking for. A much better first step than last weeks statement.

If that had been the statement we got initially, I would have spent a lot less time crying.
