In order to help minimize duplicate posting of questions I decided to assemble a Q&A and FAQ of questions that have already been addressed by the developers with links to each reply or relevant post.

Most of the responses are from the class-creator, Mark Seifter. Thanks Mr. Seifter for bearing with us so far!

Q: Any recommendations on what point-buy to use for play test purposes?
A: 20, and don't have a 7 charisma.

A: Use existing core rules on interaction.

A: Per the original FAQ. Or (my version) if it is a touch attack against SR, subject to SR and energy resistance, ignores DR. If attack is not a touch attack, subject to DR, but not SR.

A: Yes. But having a Kinetic Blast or Wild Talent SLA does not mean you qualify for Arcane Strike.

A: Depends on the base blast being used. So yes and no.

if i throw a magic arrow using my blast, does the magic in the arrow activate as well as the blast damage?


Kineticist question specific to Mummy's Mask Campaign Path.

The Earth Crypt says "Any Spell with the Air or Electricity Descriptor cast in the Earth Crypt has a 20% Spell Failure chance unless the Caster succeeds at a DC 25 Spellcraft Check before casting the Spell. This holds true for Magic Items that produce such effects."

Does the fact that a Kineticist's abilities are Spell-like bypass that? Should it Bypass that, or is that a relic of Pre-Occult Adventures game design?

From your quote I'd say RAW, spell-like abilities aren't spells and so don't have a failure chance. They work differently on several levels (no somatic or verbal components, etc).

However, I'd say that RAI they do work the same way.

Ultimately it's the GMs call, but if I were running the game I'd use the same failure chance for SLAs as I would for spells in this instance.


Thanks, though after chatting with my player I have new questions. Apparently the Physical Blasts do not have an Elemental Descriptor, which is bonkers to me since you are literally using an element to cause damage. Seems to me there is an effect on a place to prevent air magic, that's going to include someone who just gathers a lot of air and throws it at someone if their power is magic.
