Per this KS update, it looks like they are starting a new YouTube series with the inaugural episode today. The update also says they will be teasing/previewing some Dragons stuff.

I'm very disappointed in myself that I didn't keep up with the updates and missed the playtest. Now I shall wait with high levels of hype induced anxiety.

They did mention on the YouTube series that dragons get either a boost to strength or a different ability score based on their heritage, a free boost, and no ability flaw.

Bummed I miss my chance to vote for Void Dragons!

Well maybe you aren't too late... I put up another chance for people to explain which true dragon is best and why on reddit at this link!

If anyone missed the follow up post Mark made here is a link to the reddit post.

There's also lunar dragons now! Actually havoc dragons are out too, I have a link to them and the rules for silver dragons in the lunar dragon entry.

You should, we are soooo close. Yesterday (or something) Steve said that it is pretty much just one last-minute piece of art that keeps the book from being done.

My best bet is a Friday release. Any takers?

Edit: Hahahaha. It came out even before the edit window on this post expired. I didn't see that one coming XD

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

This art is so good.

It looks so good and the intro is just great writing.

Jumped at the hoards of power part and it is so good. Explains a lot of the legendary relation between a dragon and their hoard.

I'm very impressed by what's in this book. At a first read, it seems very balanced, and really pushes what can be done within the system. I hope to see more stuff like this from third party, and maybe from Paizo as well if Book of the Dead has a similar vibe!

Thanks so much everyone! The art is by Firat Solhan, who also does art for Paizo. He is fantastic. I'm glad you're enjoying it.

This is great work! I'm ecstatic to be able to play a dragon ancestry, and while it may take some convincing on my part to allow either ancestral paragon or free archetype to fully realize the concepts I had in mind, it is also perfectly balanced and fun. I'm really impressed with the amount of effort put into this book, whether that be the layout, the plethora of feats, or the artwork, it's more than I could have hoped for.

Still working my way through it but it can't be overstated how herculean of an effort it is to get a book made with such quality and attention to detail as this book has in the timeline you all gave yourselves. I hope Mark gets to enjoy a comforting bath or something after this.

Wayfinders

This is probably my single favorite third-party PF2 product so far. The presentation is unmatched, and the mechanics really push the envelope of what's possible with 2e while still keeping it fun and balanced. Awesome work on everyone's behalf.

Now to figure out some game to run or play in using this...

So far I've only managed to find one major error: The Spore Breath table lists "Bewildering Breath" as one of the possibilities, but as far as I can tell nothing in the book matches that.

Liberty's Edge

Some heritages have it better than others for getting good synergy between their innate spells and a specific casting class.

Except for Sorcerer : all dragons can fully benefit from being great Sorcerers ;-)

Thanks, we saw it too! We have that marked for an errata update soon and it will be fixed in time for the 1st printing hardcover, and we passed it on to Pathbuilder and Foundry so they will have the right version.

I'm so glad there's the Draconic Diehard class archetype. I wonder if I'll ever play a normal class again...

Liberty's Edge

Just realized that dragons with a burst breath will hurt when using the Dragon Breath feat since they are not usually immune to their own damage IIRC.

The burst can be placed wherever within 30 feet of you. So while it is the only breath you can hurt yourself with, you don't have to.

Thanks. I missed that :-)

It becomes immensely interesting.

Liberty's Edge

I love the feat that makes Incapacitation spells believe you are of higher level. It should be more widely available.

Hoard hauler is full of awesome flavor too :-D

Draconic Pride is so much what the Kobold feat Dragon's Presence should have been.

Reanny this book overflows with awesome greatness.

I believe the toadstool dragon is the only one as it was a late contribution from Ginny Di rather than someone on the team. Hope we see more in the future if this product is ever expanded on.

I wonder how hard it's going to be to find a GM who allows Free Archetype and Ancestry Paragon and Dragons. I better start my quest to find one now.

Step 1: Recruit a bunch of players who want to also be dragons

Step 2: Form a pirate dragon crew

Step 3: Tell your GM that the Rag Tag Scaleywags need a suitable ship and a GM worth their sea salt

Step 4: Profit

heh, my west marches is 2/3, just no ancestry paragon.

Book is really cool, but I do wonder what lux aeternal means. Lux is light? I haven't been able to find a translation of aeternal.

Aeterna is latin for Eternal or Everlasting. Add an L to the end and you Lux Aeternal which I feel rolls off the tongue better for using it as an adjective.

But Eternal Light is basically referencing the assumed bottomlessness of the draconic wellspring of power.

Looks like dragons are up on Pathbuilder! Hype!

Liberty's Edge

I really enjoy the whole of the book so far. Currently reading all the many pages of lore on dragons and the ritual.

I am surprised Alchemist was not included in the classes a Havoc dragon would like. It seems as good a fit for them as it is for goblins IMO.

One of my groups recently picked all of the battlezoo books up and have to say we really enjoy them. The content feels good, both exciting to look at without feeling like it breaks the game on its own, while also not managing to feel too derivative either.

Only real criticism so far has been that it feels like a lot of the dragon ancestry feats, especially at high levels, are 1/day powers. Even that's mostly just a taste thing for us though.

I've been searching on how to get the battlezoo books for pathfinder 2e, with no luck. I only find the 5e versions.

Can someone direct me where I can buy the pathfinder 2e versions?

Thanks

Should be able to order it right on backer kit

there's a dropdown menu to choose which version you want.

I'm so glad I pushed so hard for it to be made during the playtest. The process of testing and even designing for this project was some of the best fun I've ever had.

So, now that I have my copies of the BZ Bestiary and BZ Ancestries Dragons, I'm wondering if (or hopefully when?) the new dragons in the Ancestries book will get bestiary entries? I would love to use some as encounters, qua interesting dragons.
