There are a couple new options in PF2e that I’d like to play with, but my group is pretty happy playing first edition. Anyone have advice on changing a 2e playable race into a first edition one, or any other similar conversions?

Which race?

Sadly 2nd edition races, with the slight bit of flexibility of ability score placement, work almost better for 1e as written than 1e races.

As far as I understand there is a great deal of crossover between the two?

With the already existing PF2e races/ancestry that also share a counterpart in PF1e, the given newer player's options might be less difficult to rework into PF1e stats, as opposed to the wholly new PF2e race/ancestry options.

In those cases, it might best be served to have the more common Bestiary options be the default Race attributes with the higher-leveled/less common options being either higher-leveled abilities or outright alternative race options for the original PF2e races/ancestries'... at least that's what I can come up with off the top of my head.
