Telepathic Caster (?? RP): Prerequisite: Telepathy (any variant thereof); Benefit: Members of this race that cast spells does so as spell-like abilities.

How much RP should this be worth?

Ummmm... infinity points because it removes an intended balance and weakness of traditional (mostly arcane) casting.

I would suggest instead that you make the benefit be that those possessing the trait can instead supply emotion and thought components (like a psychic spell caster tradition as opposed to arcane or divine) instead of the normal verbal & somatic spell components.

That would cost maybe 2 rp.

I'm inclined to agree here, I wouldn't allow that ability in any game with Vancian casting.

The wrong forum, if you want suggestions in inventing new rules you need the Advice or Homebrew and Houserules forums.

That said, it is not clear what you are trying to do.

A level 1 wizard will have a fixed, single-use spell-like ability for each spell slot he has?
A single-use spell-like ability that he can change every day for each spell slot?
Multiple-use spell-like abilities?


I think the original poster was

1) unaware of he existence of the psychic casting tradition which eschews somatic and material components
2) was wanting to "create" the concept of psychic casting by removing those bits by turning all the spell slots into essential spell like abilities, except it has way more consequences than the OP might realize.
