Knights of Lastwall

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

Hello,
I am trying to make a 1st level character that was in training to be a Knight of Lastwall. Are there some sources I can get about the Knight's day-to-day prior to the Whispering Tyrant destroying the nation?

What I am really curious about are two things:
1. Were there specific classes they had to be? EG only Paladins or War Priest; no Rouges, Wizards, so on.

2. Were the Knights conscripted like the Night Watch in GoT or was the force all volunteer? Seems that would have a hard time finding enough volunteers for such a dangerous border.

My idea is a dwarven spirit barbarian, but don't know if that really fits into the lore/cannon of P2e.

Thanks!

Knights of Lastwall/Ozem, as an organization, were never locked to a class. The idea of a meta-concept like class in Golarion isn't really something that exists.

As far as I know, the forces are something that you enlisted in/volunteered for, with most having a strong motivation to do so. As always the wiki is a fantastic resource, as are the PF1 books like the Inner Sea World Guide. I'm no expert on Lastwall even before it fell, so I'm certain that someone on these boards has more knowledge then me.

And of course, I would be more interested in lore/canon as it pertains to your particular GM's game. I know many GM's that would turn up a nose at a barbarian in a non-stereotypical setting in any regard and others that are much more open about things. I definitely feel like a barbarian, especially a spirit barbarian, with a Knights of Ozem background is a pretty easy sell even for the most stubborn of GMs.

You might be interested in looking up Knights of Everflame. The first few sessions are right after the party joins the Knights of Lastwall; while there are many volunteers, there are also plenty of conscripts with varying level of scruples. In fact, one of the players actually is a Spirit Barbarian Dwarf, so your idea not only fits the lore, there's an example of it happening in a Paizo-affiliated production.
