How can I run Special scenarios?

The Concordance

I'm interesting with the story of S02-Special Year of the Shadow Lodge. However, the Note said," To inquire about access to this scenario, refer to the Organized Play Convention Support Policy", which make me confused.

How can I run this scenario?

At a Convention.

I believe the table minimum for those earlier Season Specials was 5? I know some of the later Season Specials could have as few as 3 tables (unless I'm thinking of Starfinder).

I believe THIS is the most up-to-date information.

My recollection is that the S02 special was a unique event, that was only run once(?) and is not available for general play.

Pity. So I can not run this scenario.

I've done the Season 2 Special. I believe at one of the California Conventions (maybe KublaCon?). It's just a Tier 1-11.

It should still be available.

Presumably Jared is thinking of 2-SP The Onyx Assault (Grand Convocation)
(Which was a 1 time special event)

Not Year of the Shadow Lodge.

You need 3 tables for Year of the Shadow Lodge.

Not Year of the Shadow Lodge.

I did not realize there was a second season 2 special.

Is there any other requirement?

Oh that's the one that granted the Goblin Boons.

EDIT: whoops, ninja'd by 2 minutes.

Nope. Did have Fetchlings at high tier. Season 4 race for the runecarved key part 2 was the GenCon exclusive that came with Goblins.

These scenarios may be run anywhere if they meet the listed table minimum, are playing the scenario simultaneously, and are in contact with each other:
3 tables
PFS #2-SP: Year of the Shadow Lodge (Levels 1–11)
PFS #8-99D: The Solstice Scar version A (Levels 1-11)
4 tables
PFS #4-SP: Race for the Runecarved Key (Level 1–20)
5 tables
PFS #3-SP: Blood Under Absalom (Levels 1–11)
PFS #5-SP: Siege of the Diamond City (Levels 1–15)
PFS #6-00: Legacy of the Stonelords (Levels 1–11)
PFS #6-97: Siege of Serpents (Levels 1–11)
PFS #7-00: The Sky Key Solution (Levels 1–11)
6 tables
#8-00 The Cosmic Captive (Levels 1-11)

Note: For purposes of qualifying for these specials, you may add both Standard and Core tables add together. For example, if you had 3 Standard tables and 1 Core table for Race for the Runecarved Key, that would qualify as the 4 total tables you need to run the scenario.

Thank you.

So, as long as I gathered enough tables, I can run these scenario.

Does it have to be in a Convention? Do I need applying to pazio first?

Yes, and .. I can't get the key point.

Most of these Special will require the approval of the RVC that oversees your area.

It appears it "can be run anywhere". The other requirements for some specials do say that they must be run at a convention. This doesn't. As long as you have 3 players and a GM at 3 tables and an Overseer GM, you should be good to go.

Excellent.

The last question, does overseer GM need any qualification, such as 4 stars?

If I gathered 3 tables to run #2-SP: Year of the Shadow Lodge (Levels 1–11), can the 3 tables run different subtiers?

It's actually a lot more fun that way. Try to get a low tier table, middle tier, and high tier.

It's worth specifically noting for posterity (and future thread necros) that the VO corps recently received some updated information, and the post linked to above is currently out of date. Maybe it will be updated or included on another page soon! In the meantime, Alex gave us permission to share the updates publicly.

I've been keeping the Pittsburgh region's "stars and table requirements" reference up to date, and for the moment it seems to be the only updated public resource.

For Pathfinder 1e, the changes in the most recent batch are:

  • RVC approval is no longer necessary to schedule a multi-table interactive, but you should keep 'em in the loop, especially if you're scheduling a convention (this one's for us venture-officers and convention organizers),
  • No multi-table interactives must be scheduled at conventions, and
  • PFS1 10-98 Siege of Gallowspire now has a 3-table minimum (previously: 5-table minimum) to run.

Well I don't feel bad because it changed just a few days ago.
