LF DM interested in Running Emerald Spire (PF 1E)

Recruitment

Good day, as stated I am looking for a DM to run Emerald Spire. I would like to go through this before I run my Players through it.

I am willing to play solo or in a group, I am also willing to try and find players for said Group. I have Ideas for characters for solo, duet and larger.

I have noticed that not a lot of people play this particular module, if any one can tell me there reasons for not running it? That would be appreciated as well.

If you are interested please Private Message me or leave a comment here. As well as any questions you might have. Thank you for your time.

Man, a run through Emerald Spire would be great. No reason to go alone Zelker, if you get a GM count me interested.

I'm running a group through it in PFS right now (currently on the 12th level). Something to keep in mind is that even a speed run through it in PbP will take a couple of years, so if you want to play it all the way through before you run it you're going to have to plan around that.

I have a character that completed the first floor. Unfortunately, the GM was not able to continue. I'd love an opportunity to finish the spire.

It's dangerous to go alone! Take me.

Its one of the possible games Im thinking of running. go vote.

Next Game Poll

Should you find yourself with a GM to run this, I would also be available...

Aragorn : [to Frodo] If by my life or death I can protect you, I will. You have my sword...
Legolas : And you have my bow.
Gimli : And *my* axe.

Liberty's Edge

Frodo the rogue: Thanks but I'm not proficient in longbows, two-handed swords, or two-handed axes.

Necromancer: You can have one of my skeletons...once I skin these goblins we killed earlier and raise them...

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

If you're planning on playing all the way through the Emerald Spire in an online game before running it for your friends, you're going to be quite a bit older by then! I'm five years into my game of Emerald Spire and we're only on the 6th of 16 levels!

That said, it's awesome!

Hmmm. Anyone have a spare dozen of cookies, some Doritos, or some brownies so we can bribe a GM to run this?

Grand Lodge

My first PBP game was Emerald Spire and we made it down several levels before it petered out. I would love to join if someone is willing to run it.

"Emerald Spire, uh?" *Raises his brows*

I am considering running at least the first level to see how it goes. If we have a good group with a good pace, I'd do more.

I would run this as a PFS module. And I prefer Core to Standard. Could we make a full party in Core? I would run Standard if not.

* gasp *

Core is fine with me. :) So it would be a society game? Or just using those rules? (Just for clarification)

I can have a Wizard ready for this, this weekend.

And Aldizog, thanks for considering it.

Yes, it would be a society game in the Core Campaign.

If you put it together I would create a core player for the game. I have five standard characters but have not played core PFS. so I would prefer to keep it simple, with some type of a melee character.

For a chance to play it I would do core. I'll have to come up with a different character concept as I had previously as I dipped magus. Might still do a rogue though. When would you be looking to start? And thanks for considering running it.

GM Aldizog How many folks would you take? What kind of posting rate would you expect us to keep?

Looks like we could really use a cleric.

I'd probably look to take 5, but could do 6 (and just not replace if we later lose 1). I would expect daily posting (on weekdays) and would bot anybody whose turn was up for 24 hours.

I am not sure when I would look to start - maybe a week or so? It looks like we have 3 already.

You might want to PM the person who stared the thread and see if they are still interested.

* grin * Good idea.

I think I might submit a bard for this though I could possibly do cleric.

GM Aldizog, you will certainly get applicants if you put the game up for recruitment. Will you be putting up a recruitment thread?

I'm thinking probably a druid for this. Maybe a cleric. Definitely a full caster.

Core only, hmm? I think the Eldritch Knight PrC is actually decent in core...

Sounds like this is taking off, I have seen the PbP before but not done one fully. I will need a bit of a run though. That and I will need to check if my Idea for the Cleric is CORE or not.

Yaah, my current idea for a Cleric is NOT CORE, not even close lol. So I will have to make up a new charector idea.

Ok, I know this might be a dumb question. I wasn't able to find a 'core guide.' But I've got the PFS guide and the basic traits guide. Is there any other PFS guide I need to define a core PFS character?

Core Campaign is the Core Rulebook, the Guide to Organized Play (so all the Faction Traits), and the Traits Web Enhancement.

I am not 100% set on running this (maybe 80%) - will decide in the next couple of days and post a Recruitment thread if I do.

The first level can be a real slog, and without giving away too much, it seems designed to let the much-maligned Harsk pregen shine. (Anybody want to play a Harsk clone and test my theory?)

Also recall that you can always rebuild your PC at any time before playing them at level 2 in PFS, so you won't be stuck with whatever you start with.

I don't believe there is anything that can make Harsk look not-terrible.

Starfinder Charter Superscriber

I'd be happy to play Harsk. Fun gaming and being effective are two different things :) (not to mention, most PFS groups contain a couple of super-optimised PCs that more than make up for a couple of duds)

Apologies, all. I don't think I'm going to be able to run this satisfactorily at this time.

If that changes, I will post a Recruitment thread.

Roger, thanks for the interest. Hopefully we can find someone.

It's because Harsk is in the game, isn't it?

No.
It's because running a game is a much greater time commitment than playing a game, and I actually clocked how much time I already spend on PbP.

I keep monitoring this thread looking to se if anyone picked it up.

Thinking on running it for you guys.

Id take 6-7 players. but wouldnt run PFS itd just be a regular game.

does that make folks back out?

1. Thank you.
2. I'm still in. Absolutely.

I would absolutely be interested in a game with you GM'ing.

Yep I think there would still be interest.

I'd like to hear from folks how they view this.

Obviously it's a mega dungeon.

But there's ample opportunity within and without for role playing...

Do folks want it. To be more like diablo? Or more like a role playing game with lots of interaction and alliances?

This won't influence my decision which is leaning towards. It just helps my expectations

I don't know which I would like better. I think some role-playing but combat heavy.

I would lean toward the the second option, more role playing.

Hey GMMichael, thanks for considering picking up the game. As for the question: heavy combat (I assume that's what the Diablo reference means) or RP with interaction and allies.

I enjoy a mixture of both. I like the 'tactical' side of builds/games but most the characters I create talk a lot. My goal is to keep the story line moving. I really don't know if Emerald Spire has an overarching 'story line' or not, I assumed it was just a dungeon crawl.

Either way I would recommend you do what interests you, then communicate the expectations and see what comes together.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I pretty much have to go with RPing being the primary, but that wouldn't need to mean it can't be a kick-ass Dungeon Crawl anyway, right?

Less Diablo and more Baldur's Gate. (The video games, that is.)

And if this moves forward, I'll do it as a paladin under this alias.
(Feldspar Flanderdash here. :D)

it's a reality
