Help with a concept...

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Despite what I consider a relatively decent Bardic Knowledge (I fully intend my puns)... I cannot seem to find something to fully embrace precussion performance based on blows delivered...

Literally, BOOM-BOOM-BOOM, as the hammer falls on the enemy.

The archery aspect, and Arrowsong Minstrel in particular, have the Tuned Bowstring for something similar in concept.

There are weapons that whistle when swung, Thundering enchantments...

What am I missing for building someone who makes music by beating others? The brutal beating they deliver is tune providing rhythm and tempo for the battlefield?

Even better if we can use the enemies to beat the other enemies to create this music...gestalt is totally allowed to embrace a body bludgeoner base drum concept...

Hopefully Skald has something, right? Is it time I actually explore Skalds?

UC rake rogue with sap adept/sap master.
Obviously using a sap (for that nice percussion) which due to your rake archetype you literally demoralize your enemy by hitting them.

With some bard stuff you buff your party and get in some sneak attacks to debuff your enemy.

You can always use the Equipment Trick (Thunderstone) to add BOOMS to your hammers.

Alchemists (& spellcasters) can use thunderstones as additional material components for such booms (as per the same feat).

Instead of the BOOM of a hammer, you can also use the sonic BOOM of a whip, if you're willing to play a Hobgoblin (take the "Pit Boss" alternate trait). There are lots of Hobgoblin feats around intimidating/improving your enemies/allies (and sometimes both): Focusing Blow, Commander of Goblinkind, Demoralizing Lash, Taskmaster, Terrorizing Display, ...
and even some additional BOOM features for an Alchemist: Distracting Explosion, Deafening Explosion.

If you want to use the Thunderstone Equipment Trick and need your move actions, become a Hobgoblin Fell Rider Cavalier with a cool mount, carry a Hobgoblin Battle Standard and cast Magic Mouth on it to make thematic noises triggered by combat events (or get the even better Cackling Skull spell on skulls mounted on the standard).

Battlecry feat?
Hammer the gap fits thematically

A skald that uses hammers. I mean. What more do you need? A warhammer plus a shield. Your foes can be your bass and timpani drums, your own shield is the cymbal and gong.

Belkzen War Drummer is a Skald archetype that seems thematic, though doesn't do much in combat that screams 'drums' besides being better with 'clubs'.

Some masterpieces (available to both Skalds and Bards) might be useful. Battle Song of the People's Revolt to give allies teamwork feats, Blazing Rondo for an improved Haste, or Kaminari Drums for a little 'Thunderstruck' AC/DC.
Bonedancer Bodhran for an undead moshpit.

I feel what you want likely will have to venture into house rules territory. That being said, isn't there an exotic dwarven weapon, that's basically a big hammer with a shot gun in one of the heads. If I remember right, when it "fires" the explosion of the powder is supposed to propel the hammer forward for greater damage. Modify that, so that it's shooting blanks. "BOOM" but no bullets.

Otherwise, maybe a custom feat, or could just flavor text cover this. Something akin to, as long as you strike an opponents touch AC, you are continuing the percussion, but if you fail to strike a foe, you must spend your swift (move?) action, to strike your own shield.

I was also thinking about that Thunderstone Ram, or whatever it's called... I just need to explore some of these suggestions to see if they offer the Performance side of flavor/mechanics.

Might still have to gestalt Primalist Bloodrager for Body Bludgeoner, or whatever the Rage Power is that allows you to hit people WITH PEOPLE.

I am ok with making this a monster with class levels if I have to. Gestalt monsters, I don't care.

I just want someone throwing rhythm/battle-tempo for their allies, but their precussion weapon of choice is literally someone else. Lol.

Grabs some poor smuck by the ankle and starts swinging them around... blap-blap-blap... with the fabulous chorus of the guy screaming as he is smashed into his friends... flailing around like a whacky wavey arm inflatable tube man...

100 kilogram wet noodle slapping his friends in the face, with his face. Lol.

Aaaahhhhhh, I'm so sorr-YTtttt-smack...

well.. if you don't mind the one throwing things around to not be strictly your character...
getting an improved familiar (many ways to do that. not going into them) of an elemental(Aether) would let your invisible familiar throw things (drumsticks you arranged before?) at enemies or even enemies at other enemies. you can just be pointing like a conductor while performing and let him do the lifting. and since he's invisible most people would see it as your music make things go smash into other things.
and telekinetic maneuver can be done at a very far range (long range and count your total hd for his caster level of telekinesis maneuvers so 400+40X level in feet)
