I see 2E has Oozemorphs now...are they any good?

So, I kinda drifted away from PF during the pandemic...and in coming back, I find out they added an Oozemorph archetype in "The Slithering" module...super excited, I picked it up and immediately flipped to the read about it...

Am I missing something, or do they not get pretty much anything related to the p1 Oozemorph? No shapeshifting, no compression, no turning your limbs into weapons? Just a couple of unusual anatomy related feats?

Is this archetype worth looking any farther into, or is it just another write off like the 1e version?

It's not really like the 1E version at all, that's true.

That being said, I don't think the archetype is useless. It makes you very tanky if you go down the Disturbing Defense line, granting lots of kinds of DR, and at a slightly higher rate than other feats which grant DR based on archetype feats. IIRC it's generally equal to the number of feats you take, not 2 + that number. Vacate Vision is also a neat, if niche, defense, and comes online around the same time you are going to start running into things like medusas, and when more elaborate illusion spells start to pop up around level 7.

It's not bonkers "Become an Ooze, the Archetype," but I think it's alright at what it does if you want someone a bit more oozy. And, while it's sadly unlikely because the archetype was introduced in a module, there is always the possibility that the archetype can have more feats added to it later.
