Map packs low quality

What is the deal with selling map packs with battlemaps with a scale of 1 square = 10 or 20 feet but not having a high enough image quality to use the darn thing? I am running the Tyranys Grasp AP and this thing is covered in useless maps that I have to remake. I am paying for the convenience to not have to do that.

Why can the Fantasy Grounds software get the high quality maps?

This is the real question, we know the higher quality files exist... People require the higher quality files... Paizo should give the paying customers the better quality files.

Their most recent AP (abomination vaults) has MUCH higher resolution maps... But even then they are still lower resolution than the FG ones for some reason or another.

I replace all paizo maps at this point. Dungeondraft can recreate them (tracing) in much greater detail with nicer textures, lighting, etc. Reddit/Battlemaps has tons of great free maps you can replace with.

I used to tough it out with the paizo maps on R20, but since we switched to FoundryVTT it can actually handle high-res image files so we've upgraded. It's a huge diff. I'll link some samples that I, a dungeon-draft noob, have been able to make.

Here's some from Hells Rebels/Vengeance I did:

You must be new to PF ;) We've been receiving low-res maps since Paizo started releasing APs 12 years ago.

Paizo has been in threads like this before and talked about how the problem they're facing is they don't want to blow up the PDF sizes. On the other hand, I do agree that we should have some way (a separate download perhaps) to access those high res maps.

I'd be willing to pay extra for those downloads even though I already have them.

I've used Topaz Gigapixel AI to upscale lots of maps for use in Roll20 with generally excellent results. The only complaint that remains is how the artists frequently think a grid is a mere suggestion and instead place lines tauntingly close to where they should be, but sufficiently distant enough to merit removal.

Thank you for the suggestion. I'll try it out since they have a demo version.

This is an example of what I mentioned earlier. If this program works, I'd be willing to pay for a license. Prefer to pay Paizo for better maps, but it is what it is. :)
