Where are the cleric mansion spells?

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

The lack of mansion spells on the divine list is notable.

"Shelter" or "instant temple" is not an unreasonable thing to ask some deities for.

God wants you to be a hermit in the desert.

Well, not every single one apparently...

You'd be putting all the artisans who build cathedral-banks out of work. No dice.

LE is an alignment option for Abdar followers.

Maybe you'll get lucky and Dinosaur Fort will be on the Divine list in addition to Primal.

The gods decided that having places of worship popping up everywhere instantly was unfair strategy to their game of Populous.

I'm not religious myself, but I was under the impression that the worshippers are meant to build the temples.

I generally feel that how fancy the place is worship is only matters to the deity as an expression of the faith of the people who built it, which makes the deity building it for them kind of backwards?

I guess it could be the essence thing. How do you build a temple out of spirit and life?

*Notices a huge temple made of biomass.* Oh...

Lamashtu approves.

Yeah, try asking Torag to build a temple for you...

I did. His response was a pile of stone blocks, a hammer, and a note saying "Get on with it" in Dwarven.

God of Beggars, the greatest beggar! We your servants, aspiring to be great beggars! Give us a place to sleep we beg you!

Anyhow you can duplicate a mansion spell with Miracle but that's 10th level. I might design a low level shelter spell, for overnighting in dungeons, around 3rd to 5th, but casting that will come with massive clerical investment. Oaths and stuff. Maybe even a ritual. Although I'm worried that people will see that as a backdoor way to get spells like Wall of Stone into Divine.

edit: The temple can give out magic items like Zon Kuthon gives out Bone Towers.

I think the answer here is, it wasn't something clerics could do in PF1 (that I can think of off-hand, and if there is some random spell it probably was in a soft cover book that has less editing and curating).

So it wasn't added to their list of things they could do in PF2 because 'tradition'.

My favorite temple is that of Groteus, all you need is some ruined (or soon to be) structure, pessimism, and enough spite to pray for it all to just hurry up and end already, and BOOM - an instant place of worship.

As if Groetus cares.

Btw Clerics used to get the Web Shelter spell.

And create demiplane at 7th level, which isn't a slot spell anymore. Maybe they could get a spell that lets them take the party to a refuge on their deity's plane, then? Might be a bit hot for clerics of infernal deities...

Not as hot as Calistria town!!!

Calistria's temples include bars, brothels, and other places of hedonism. Not sure how I'd feel about my player's divine heroes being able to summon a brothel or tavern at a whim.

A perfect place to return to dungeons with some debuff stats! :P

Idk those sounds like perfect places for many heros of legend.

Aw, this reminded me that you can't make CG followers of Grotus in PF2E, again. I had one who was a hoot.

"Excuse me, sir, but have you heard the good word of Grotus?"
"Uh, no?"
"That's OK, there isn't one! Have a wonderful day; you never know when you won't have any more!"

That sounds delightful. Like you're a follower of a god of the end times who doesn't really care what happens until it's time for him to Hoover up the multiverse, but like...you're up beat about it. And you're just trying to spread the word to make sure people know it's coming and to enjoy it while they can, Carpe Diem! Oh Captain my captain!

I would think calistra would be all about granting followers to pop out a giant ornate brothel that could be plopped right across from a wayward lovers house so you could rub their nose in the awesomeness of your celestial brothel.

Something like this?

I believe Folgrit gives you resplendent mansion. Isis, Abadar, Mammon, and Findeladlara all give magnificent mansion.

Some people here are wanting a Calistra mansion. <_<

It would likely be an uncommon spell like magnificent mansion, so you wouldn't have to let them.

It would be completely in character for divine heroes that followed the deity that gave the spell. I'm not sure why I need to say this as it should be obvious, but "divine" in Pathfinder refers to the deities in the rulebook and not the real world. However, I can name a few real-world religions who would be happy with that, too.
