From the chapter Fleshwarping traditions we can read that "The three most
prominent fleshwarping traditions are those of evil drow, ancient Thassilon, and Nex."

I'm puzzled, aren't Alghollthus the first fleshwarpers?
From the Pathfinder Wiki on Ulat-Kinis: "As they were devising a servitor race, alghollthus recognised the usefulness of the humanoid form: humans breed quickly and leave behind various tools that can be used by humanoid slaves. With fleshwarping, alghollthus rendered human slaves docile with alchemical reagents and their own slime, and fused them with the organs of sea monsters. After centuries of work, which saw the deaths of an untold number of human slaves, the skum were created, and quickly became important members of the alghollthus' army."

I'd hazard a guess and say they meant 'prominent' as in 'most commonly known by the general (Golarion) public'.

Liberty's Edge

Also, the "prominent" ones are all current, ongoing concerns with comparatively large output, while the alghollthus have mostly finished their work and only use fleshwarping these days on a case-by-case basis.
