Tatterdemalion and bladed scarf

Rules Questions

Quick question in regards to a potential gestalt character build.

Can a Tatterdemalion use a bladed scarf with dancing strings to get int to hit and damage?

I'm not seeing anything in the rules that would grant that, so no.

Yes, but the fact that it's a bladed scarf makes no difference. You'd just treat it as something generic she is wearing. Dancing Strings functions just like the prehensile hair hex. Secondary natural attack with 10' reach, 1d3 damage (medium creature), and using intelligence instead of strength for attack rolls and damage.

If you're asking if Dancing Strings lets you use Int on regular attacks with a bladed scarf; no. Dancing Strings gives you that extra secondary natural attack, and its bonuses only apply to that one attack.

I thought so but considering some of the builds suggest using equipment tricks to use a rope as a spiked chain I thought a few other opinions would be a good idea before i shelved the idea.

Scarab Sages

It’s a thematically fun and appropriate combination. The two things just don’t combine mechanically.
