Wizard Evocation school question

Making a lvl 1 wizard not to familiar with all the spellcasting rules. Since I picked Evocation I get the spell force missile under the description it says you may do this 3+ int modifier which is 3 so 6 times a day. My question is do I really get to use it 6 times a day I'm confused since the chart for number of spells I can cast a day is 3 lvl 0 and 1 lvl 1 and it works as if it is magic missile which is a lvl 1 spell does it work separately from my other spells or not?

This is a 1st edition question so you are more likely to get a clearer answer in the 1st edition board, but yes force missile is separate from your spell slots, so you can use it 6 times a day regardless of what other spells you cast.

This is a different ability than a spell, and while that 1d4 6 times a day might seem like a lot now, later it will be practically worthless and you'll forget you have it.
