Something I don't get about The Slithering (warning, major spoilers)

Adventures

For the first half of the module the PCs are looking for Cursebreaker, which is implied to be an artifact that cures curses. When they get to the Archive Of The Sun they find the bad guys stole it and have to go to their hideout. When they find Cursebreaker, it turns out not to be an item but a special stone golem. While I think this is a neat twist there is one problem: The PCs automatically realize it's the Cursebreaker without having to make any knowledge checks or the like, even though it says on the same page they will probably be surprised that it's a golem, so how do they just figure it out immediatley?

Well, they know it's a statue, it's the fact that it can move and act (like a golem) that's a surprise.

And they have had the statue described to them. Look at the picture, its pretty unique.

Flagged to be moved to the Pathfinder Adventures subforum.

Echoing pauljathome here. The PCs have Cursebreaker described to them.

Liberty's Edge

It also looks a whole lot like the other Pillar-Watchers, other than the head.

I guess I missed that part. I was imagining it just being a staff or gem or something until I read it was a golem. Looking back, they do say it's a statue with a weird head.

The main thing I dont get about the Slithering is how the presented pregens are supposed to have any hope in hell of not just TPK'ing over and over and over.
