Pathfinder Society

Are we allowed to use the ancestries, backgrounds, classes, archetypes, basically are we allowed to use the rules in the APG for Pathfinder Society?

Do keep an eye on availability, though, it can be a bit confusing at times - and don't hesitate to ask if you are unsure about a specific feature!

Okay, that's what I was missing: rarity. So we need to spend ACP to play the ancestries and heritages in the Player's Guide. Just checked the Boon page and there's no entry for Kobolds?

You're in luck!

PFS2 Guide, Player Basics: Player created characters

And from there:

Quote:
Character Options: All of the ancestries, backgrounds, and classes from the Core Rulebook are available to you when creating a character. You might need to spend Achievement Points to access some ancestries and options from other books before you can use them in organized play. More information on approved resources can be found in the Character Options Blog

And -then- if you scroll down to the bottom of the blog post and click open the "Advanced Player's Guide" part, you'll notice a text that says:

Quote:

Rarity and Access Adjustments

Ancestries: Due to years of successful Pathfinder Society activities, all characters have access to the kobold ancestry (page 12).

So, there! Normally Kobold (an uncommon ancestry) would require a boon, but for pathfinder society, all players have access to Kobold Ancestry, no ACP expenditure required! ^_^

That explanation was practically musical ^_^

Ugh. More bullet points with no indication that you're supposed to click on them! Why do they keep doing this?! I've been on this page numberous times and never realized you had to click the triangles.

Thank you, Tommi Ketonen.

Ah, I should have mentioned that those are collapsed headings. I use them in documents so much myself that I forgot they might not be obvious.

Yeah that is something new they started doing. But now that we know they are doing it, we know it might be something to click.

If the cursor turned into a little hand, you know, like with a normal clickable thing, that would be okay, but this has no indication whatsoever.

Damn, a $50 book and all I can access is a mini-dragon wannabe.

I think you are misunderstanding explanations above.

A very large percentage of the book is available to everyone.

A good portion of the Uncommon options are available via AcP.

I checked my AcP. I've been playing organized play at my local game store regularly before the pandemic. Been playing OP for years. I'm a long way from having enough points.

Do you have fewer AcP than you have earned, or fewer than you think you deserve?

You should have at least 4 AcP per PFS2 scenario played. So if you played all 25 (? I didn't count, the highest number I can think of is #1-25) Season 1 scenarios, you should have at least 100 AcP and the ability to buy most racial boons.

You don't earn AcP for PFS1 or SFS. (You also can't spend AcP on PFS1 or SFS.)

If you don't see at least 4 AcP/scenario, you should click the "Refresh" button on one of the menus (I don't know why it doesn't auto-refresh but whatever), and if it still doesn't show the correct number, you should E-mail Paizo (they're slow, but they did get back to me recently for a ticket I submitted back in August-ish).

On your profile it only shows a Level 1 Monk, so if that's correct, you would understandably only have a handful of AcP.

AcP is a reward in proportion to the amount of PFS2 consumed.

If you have other characters that you haven't registered yet, just register them now and you'll see your points appear.

If you need help, I would get in touch with your local Venture Captain, show them your Chronicles, and have them work their magic.
