What are the Must-Have Options for a Magus?

Magus Class

In the CRB playtest, Paizo folded most must-have options into the chassis of the classes. Are there any options for the Magus that are hardly optional and should be a given for all Magi?

Runic Impression is an amazing focus power that really fills that arcane pool niche of the PF1 Magus. Folding it into Magus Potency somehow so that you didn't have to be choosing between them at 8th level would make the Magus' use of weapon much less awkward, and create a unified mechanic around the spell blade. It is weird to need to spend 2 focus points (with no way of getting 2 back) to empower your own blade to be a fully runed out magic weapon. It makes it feel like the magus is just supposed to ignore both focus powers, or at least have to completely invest in fundamental runes at level 8 and never use their magus potency again.

Generally I like how PF2 has advanced focus powers as an optional thing rather than built in, but if Magus potency is a baked in option, it makes runic impression a little awkward to use in the same combat.

Spirit sheathe I'm tempted to say but probably isn't

Energized strikes though I can't ever see not taking, along with spell swipe, hasted assault

Those last 3, there will never be a Magus I play that doesn't take them.

As it is right now, Second Chance Strike feels almost mandatory, yet comes too late.

Martial Caster also feels like you're doing yourself a huge disserve if you don't take it.

But for stuff that are actually fun mechanics that could/should be in base thing. I aggree with Runic Impression to be folded in Magus Potency.

I see how martial caster gives you some options but I fail to see how I feel like I'm hurting myself by not taking it. I think it's a good feat. Just hasn't felt mandatory to me.

Martial Caster looks very strong but you can survive without it. I'd probably retrain into later.

Energized Strikes offers so much extra damage it's almost mandatory.

Hasted Assault is insane.

I don't think anything else stands out as being a must-have.
