Rise of the Runelords

Liberty's Edge

any chance of offering the maps and creatures as a set for Roll20 like Wotc does for their mods? I think it would be really handy. I know Paizo does their stuff for Fantasy Grounds.

Dark Archive

There is already a maps/tokens set for Rise on Roll20's Marketplace. Sadly, the only other books are the first few books of Return of the Runelords. If anything else is made for Roll20, it will be from the community of Roll20 users.

With that said, you may want to search the web. I know many many GMs have made there own maps for these APs and made them available for download.

Good luck!

It costs $60 and you can find it here: link.

That said, it also includes character sheets, spell effects, unique spells and creatures from RotRL, and even hints at unique content so it may very well be worth it. I'd have bought it myself if it had been out when I was first running RotRL through Roll20.

I use this link for all my roll20 needs:

LINK

Not sure if he's the one who made them all, but Ian Norton is still my hero

It's also worth going through the Community-Created Stuff thread. There's a lot of cool stuff in there, including maps for non-canonical locations. I did one for the Hell Flume, for example, and another for the Sihedron Temple in Xin-Shalast.

It is quite a bit of reading considering all the things that have accumulated over the years, and some of it has succumbed to the inevitable link-rot. But it's still worth the time it takes to go through it.

Hi. I'm new to this forum and brand new to DM'ing. I'm thinking of running a RotR. I also plan on buying the package from Roll20, but I don't really know what to expect. Do I still need to create the walls in the lighting layer? Does it include all the tokens for the monsters and NPCs? What about handouts and other game aids? If I still have to do all the walls, I'm not sure it's really worth the expense. Has anyone purchased and run RotR with the Roll20 package?

Thanks all!

From Roll20:

Quote:

The Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition contains:

A complete, ready to run adventure laid out in Roll20 with dynamic lighting support (requires plus / pro subscription), easy to share handouts and more.
Over 340 creatures to encounter, each with complete character sheets, associated tokens, and one-click actions and spells.
A bonus compendium featuring eight monsters updated from the original Adventure Path, plus seven spells, thirty-six items, and one feat, that you can drop into any of your Pathfinder games.
Articles on the major locations of Rise of the Runelords: sleepy Sandpoint, the ancient Thassilonian city of Xin-Shalast, and others.
Dozens of new illustrations, never-before-seen characters, location maps, and more!

So the write-up strongly suggests that the maps have Dynamic Lighting already in place, and all tokens and character sheets for monsters are included as part of the purchase.

As for random encounters? I think you'll need to craft those maps yourself but I don't know. I do know that the FAQ section for this states that random encounters are kept in a separate section that the GM can import in. Whether or not that includes maps, I cannot tell you.

I did it all the old-fashioned way. If I ever rerun the game? I'll purchase it just because having a lot of stuff pre-crafted would be nice.

Thanks a bunch, Tangent101!
