Shield Magus

Magus Class

Liberty's Edge

Obviously the class has more important issues to be sorted out, but it occurred to me that a shield based path would be nice. You can fake it now (shields with a boss or spikes are 1-handed weapons, archetyping into everstand stance would make a shield 2-handed), but a path to work raising shield into your action economy and allowing you to deliver a spell when you shield block would be cool.

Horizon Hunters

Mr. Rogers, Tony Stark is here to see you with a new prototype.

Maybe something as simple as "After you use Striking Spell and start Casting a Spell that takes 1 action or more to cast, you can Raise a Shield or cast the shield cantrip as part of that Cast a Spell activity."

Your mobility isn't great (you're very much a stand and deliver sort of character), but it solves the economy problem.

I like that!

I'd love a feat or synthesis that let you upgrade the shield spell to provide a +2 to AC instead of +1. It would be particularly interesting for a two handed tanking build, though they seem to have gone a temp hit point path instead.

Reactive Shield feat works well for that. So you can manage it for 2 feats now but it'd be cool to bake it into a path.

Hmmm... Not sure how this would work. First you'd need to get shield Block. Then you'd have to replace normal Striking Spell with a Blocking Spell. After that you have to hope the creature attacks you...

Maybe a version of STRIKER’S SCROLL that instead works on shields and activates on a block instead?
