Readying 2 actions

Homebrew and House Rules

How broken would it be to allow players to ready two actions by spending 3 actions? Should it allow for two separate one action abilities (such as Stride+Strike) or be limited to things that cost two actions (such as spells or Sudden Charge)? Are there any unintended consequences of allowing this either way?

I would absolutely limit it to two-action activities, because otherwise you are going to have some very wonky rules adjudication to do, and there's a lot of potential for both cheese and analysis paralysis.

As far as unintented consequences... I'm sure there will be. Readying spells in particular is a pretty decent power boost for casters, and could ALSO lead to some analysis paralysis.

This was something I strongly considered doing early in 2e, but after playing it for a while I've dropped the idea.

Also, on the other hand, some monsters have some vicious two-action activities that might be too much if they can be readied.
