Considering a Groot and Rocket Raccoon pair of PC's

Advice

So a friend mentioned that there is treant PC race somewhere. My first thought was Wierd, who would want to play a tree?

But then it hit me this morning. GROOT!

So how close do you think we can come to Groot (and by extension) Rocket Raccoon? If I have to go to the GM with race points or some minor rules tweaks I can, But I would like to see how close we can get within the rules.

So what are your ideas?

Rocket Racoon's can of whoopass in the movies seems to stem from a high level of technology, fancy space guns, awesome piloting skills, exploding booby traps, etc.

So, the character for Rocket Racoon I'm thinking is sort of a Goblin Gunchemist Alchemist, and make sure you put some ranks in things that let you Fly and Craft Traps while you shoot exploding bullets stacking Alchemal Ordnance and the Explosive Missile Discovery. As for Race rules, you might just ask your GM to use the rules for Goblin but stipulate that he's really a Racoon Moreau. On the other hand, d20 has rules for characters races like Moreaus. I don't know what a Racoon Moreau is like.

Groot seems like a Druidzilla that turns into a Treant. I have to say, though, that usually, my Druidzilla builds don't normally take enough levels in Druid to do much with Plants. I just take 4 levels in Druid, then take Shaping Focus, taking most of the rest of my levels in Warpriest, substituting Warpriest Sacred Weapon Damage for the regular Natural Attack Damage then Growing to Size Huge, maybe using a Wand of Strong Jaw to get another 2 spot Size Bump.

This Race seems pretty Groot-like. He could just be an Unchained Barbarian.

Groot doesn't use any gear, so my first thought is monk with the oath to remain poor.
But he also uses a few abilities that could be modeled with spells. Long arm, dancing lights, shield other, etc ...
He seems to go bloody nuts in some scenes, so maybe bloodrager?

Or maybe the primitive barbarian with some of the mystical rage powers?

Edit: yeah, Ghoran could work.

Rocket Raccoon could be a goblin or ratfolk.

He uses both guns and bombs. In PF it would be tough to be great with both. Maybe gunslinger with VMC alchemist? Or the other way around?

Still considering.

Rocket: awakened raccoon gunslinger. Not typically a PC race, but doable with GM permission without having to actually change mechanics/rules. (A truly accurate rendition of course will need to include either modern guns or Numerian tech, which depending on the campaign might require some GM buy-in, too.)

Groot: ghoran verdant bloodrager. It doesn't hit quite every ability we've seen, but incorporates a lot of the flavor. Unarmed strikes, of course.

I was wondering what it would be like to have a PC Treant Race.

Treant

So, Str 29, Dex 8, Con 21, Int 12, Wis 16, Cha 13, Size Huge.

I'm thinking that a level 1 character starts at Size Small, then Grows 1 Size Category every 4 levels.

A Size Huge Treant's ST is 29 so Size Small on average should be 21? *cringes*

A Size Huge Treant's Dex is 8, so a Size Small on average should be 14?

Okay, let's just call it

ST +6, Wis +2 and Dex -2 and In -2 and CH-4

Treants get 2 Slam Attacks 1d4/1d4

Natural Armor Bonus +2

DR 2/Slashing

Vulnerability to Fire (+50% Damage)

Languages: Treespeech. Treants that want to learn Common or any other language must spend Skill Points.

Every 4 levels, a Treant gains 1 Size Catagory maxing out at Colossal at level 20. With every new Size, the Treant gains +2 Strength, +1 Con, -2 Dex (minimum 6), +2 DR, +2 Natural Armor. Their Reach and weapon damage go up accordingly.

And we make Animate Trees and Double Damage against Objects Treant Feats.

Honestly, I'd build Groot as a Leshy Phytokineticist that flavors his blasts slightly differently, perhaps dipping a class for rage-like abilities, and picking up Rocket with Leadership (awakened racoon with a permanent Anthropomorphic Animal spell attached to it).

Lots of different ways to pull off the combo, though.
