Pending July Orders from Humble Bundle

Paizo General Discussion

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Order 31344380.

I ordered the Humble Bundle for $30 on July 22nd, and I received all my digital products, but no indication of how much longer physical orders for the 2e Core Rulebook are taking because of the pandemic.

I did see a notice for other Humble Bundle purchasers, whom purchased after I did, that their product would not be sent out until November.

I would just like to know if this for anybody who ordered the Humble Bundle, or if it is because of time period I ordered it in.

I submitted a customer service ticket, with little to no response beyond "Check this post everyday and see if the day your email was sent came up".

I have faithfully checked everyday, and yet in a very bad case of customer service, the emails are backed up to June. Unless there is 1 person in the Customer Service Department, they work on a Volunteer basis, or for the government, IMHO this would be inexcusable in any other business.

I apologize if this post has already been made and I am being repetitive, but I don't want to just check on my order everyday and hope for the best anymore.

A simple "The order will take from # to # days/weeks/months to be shipped" will suffice.

No one can give you a precise answer like that. Here is my best guess based on the past few years experience with buying (and subscribing) to things from Paizo.

A previous Humble Bundle for PF1 also unexpectedly sold out all physical copies of the Core Rulebook. In that instance, if you didn't receive a shipping notice before the sell-out was announced, you waited for several months while Paizo placed a new order for more rulebooks from their printing company in China. IIRC, it was 4 months or more before they started shipping Core Rulebooks again.

Given the current supply chain problems that everyone is having getting products shipped from China, I would expect at least that long, if not 6 months, before Paizo even has more product in their warehouse and can begin shipping again.

Be pleasantly surprised if it takes less time.

How to communicate with Paizo Customer Service.

It's a mess. Everyone agrees, including Paizo staff. You have two options
1) Send an email to Customer Service with the details of the changes you want to make in your order. (shipping address, cancelling a subscription, sidecart items that didn't get added to your subscription order, etc).
You can track where staff are in the email backlog by watching this thread in the Customer Service Forum Customer Service Status Updates

Sending more emails will not get your issue solved any faster, and wastes time for staff to review your multiple emails, and be sure that everyone working on them coordinates their responses. You really want a single person dealing with a single issue, not 2 or 3.

2) Post a new thread in the Customer Service Forum
Don't include any personally identifying information.
Do include your Order Number
Don't add a "me too" to anyone else's thread.
Don't bump your own thread.

Customer Service staff work through forum posts in reverse order that they show up on the page.
Bumping your own thread only puts you at the back of the line again.
Bumping someone else's thread is amazingly rude, since you put *them* at the back of the line again.
You can see by looking at the most recently posted staff responses where they are in the queue.

Not much solace, but that's the current reality.

Posting vituperative comments about staff does nothing but make these boards a toxic place for everyone. And it takes away staff time from working on orders, because the same staff that do that also have to do forum moderation. The time they spend closing and removing posts is time they can't spend solving customer problems.

I believe they said they are going to start shipping most of the humble bundle Core Rulebooks this week or next week. Some of them will have to be shipped when the new shipment comes in sometime in October.

I just got a notification today that mine will ship soon. I figured with the delay that I might end up getting one of the new print run in a couple months. I'm not sure what I'd prefer, getting the book soon or waiting a bit and hopefully getting a second printing with fixes.

Honestly I was just looking for something like this; a broad approximation based on previous experience or something.

I don't mean to upset the customer service reps or make them do more work than necessary, but this pandemic makes it seem like everyone who can take time off does.
I only mentioned the size of the department because I am unaware of how many employees Paizo employs in any portion of their company.
I usually am a lot nicer and more careful about this stuff, but 3 weeks with little to no response was a bit too frustrating.

Thank you for the tips, again thanks for the timely response even though you don't work for the company.

Good to hear people are getting shipping notifications and that there may be an upside to waiting for a later copy

Has anyone had an update on this? I am old school and getting the book would speed up several things I am building over the PDF

Still waiting on mine from July. I got an email that they expected to begin shipping November 4th and that the orders are expected to be fulfilled within 2-3 weeks. December 4th now and still no update on my pending order. No response to customer service email or forum posts. At this point I'm pretty sure that their customer service is just 3 raccoons in a trenchcoat.

Very frustrating, at the very least by this point they should have been able to bring on extra customer service to follow up on emails/posts. They're still apparently taking 4+ weeks to reply to emails, and 1-2 weeks to forum posts.

They did bring on more customer service representatives, or at least one. One of the problems might be is this thread isn't in the customer service section, so it's easier to miss and the new guy might not know to check elsewhere for stray threads such as this.

I've flagged it as needing to be moved, so hopefully that will bring a response.

Be patient, it's 2020 after all, for all we know the cargo ship was swallowed into the Bermuda Triangle.
