I'm pulling in some info from the pre-Gencon discord here...

Datch's Dispassion from 2-24:
Datch’s Dispassion (Slotless Boon): Your efforts in defeating Dispassion and ending Datch’s character assassin training grounds have not gone unnoticed. Your notoriety in the Society (and beyond) ensures that Luwazi cannot employ you in her final mission against Datch, though your actions will resonate for those who finally confront the insidious ysoki. If you play Starfinder Society #3–00: The Last Bite with any of your characters, you can use this boon for an added effect during that scenario.

This wasn't added, or was perhaps cut, from the scenario:

Act 4 was missing some detail... this seemed to represent the intended path:

Quote:

Shrine in H1 -> Checkpoint 1 -> Unlocks and open secret doors in H1, unlocks red doors

Shrine in H2 -> Checkpoint 2 -> Unlocks blue doors (not strictly necessary; players might skip this) -> Second Wind condition
Shrine in H3 -> Checkpoint 3 -> Unlocks yellow doors
H5 (no shrine) -> Data for shrine in H6; fight Iroiveth
Shrine in H6 -> Checkpoint 4 -> Unlocks purple doors.
H7 -> If party skips H5 and jumps to Checkpoint 4, they fight Iroiveth in H7

Some notes on part 1/2 missions...

Covert 1
What happens if a PC loses an item? Maybe let them win it back instead of succeeding later? I don't know that we got a great answer to this.

Covert 3

Pandemic themes, do trigger warning, if anyone wants to avoid, then don't run them and run something else

Covert 4

Had some questions about what happens if the party sides with Suzi and attacks Yalus? I think this is another case of undefined behavior. I wouldn't give 'em credit since I don't see Suzi asking for help, but that's just me.

Covert 5

There was some confusion about how to run this one.

Adrian B's thoughts on this wrote:

1) Reception area, each PC has to fool receptionists here to gain entry , and has 4 "tries" (though 3 consecutive failures effectively fails the mission)

2) Security Control Room behind the Receptionists. Entering here and making the three Hard checks (Engineering to enter, Stealth to be sneaky, Computers to disable cameras) allows you to skip the combat encounter which is part 3. Distracting the receptionists through RP makes the Stealth check easier.
3) Travelling to Datch's office causes you to come across a patrol unless the Security Control Room was successful.
Part 4) Datch's Office, skill checks to hack, and a curse placed on the computer

The curse trap was written to be perhaps too nasty.

I'm going to be nice and say that:

* The Hacker's Curse on page 20 only affects one random item, not all items in reach, but that any item in that 60ft radius could be the target
* In Subtier 5-6, items of 6th level or higher get to make the save
* Do remember that while one item is affected to start, anything it touches can become cursehacked

I think Alex's thought was that the "touched a creature that is cursed" shouldn't apply if you're wearing it, so the item would only infect other items it touched, not everything you were wearing all at once.

Note that there's at least one way to remove a curse through the room succeeding at a mission, but it only un-curses one item. If everything a player owns becomes cursed, the player might be looking at mid-two-digit fame costs to uncurse everything or else the character's unplayable.

If you're the house GM for this one, you'll definitely want to think about how to handle this curse.

Action 1

Lots of questions about this one. The escort mission lacks stats--the tactics as written say that the assassins are terrible assassins and attack the PCs until they're dead, and only then do they go after Denanne, so you can flavor this up as an escort mission but it doesn't actually act like it. Might've been an escort mission at one point in development that only got partially edited out?

Action 2

What're the crates, and the height of everything? Lots of discussion about this since nothing was really set. We know the equipment goes 40 feet up, almost to the ceiling, but what "the equipment" refers to isn't really specifically stated.

I was worried about low subtier getting down from the conveyor so my arbitrary decision was that the conveyor was 15' up or so and ran through gaps in the equipment, so you had to go on the conveyor belt to get by (and were thus exposed to the traps), but nobody's really sure since it's not well-described.

The crates are the box marked on the map. The conveyor seems to run north to south but the east/west motion is unclear. (Maybe outside in?)

Action 3

Pandemic themes, do trigger warning, if anyone wants to avoid, then don't run them and run something else

I'd asked a question about whether there were any Starfinder images published for the Lorespire Complex, and it turns out they'd been shared in a Twitch stream.

Mods, I believe this is an okay thing to link to because, as noted, it's screencaptures from a public Twitch stream; if it's not, apologies!

This is a summary of the things that were said on the discussion channel for SFS #3-00 on the GenCon Discord (where it was discussed before general public release of the scenario), preserved for posterity.

Note on Special logistics: For those who may not be aware, when running specials online the House GM (formerly known as the Overseer) typically uses a Twitch channel and everyone (players and GMs) are assumed to have it open so they can listen for announcements while they play. The current global situation is displayed in a graphic on the Twitch stream as well. 0In smaller cons, the House GM typically monitors a Discord text channel where Table GMs report successes but for GenCon there was a special-purpose reporting site where Table GMs could push buttons to report their table successes.

Several people called out the Content Warning (on the Table of Contents page).

Regarding the boon from SFS 2-24 Cornered Rat (L9-12)-

There is no mechanical effect from the boon in 3-00, sadly.

100% our bad and you are free to blame us for it

but, y'know, be nice

Regarding secret doors on the map for part 4 -
A map with the secret door markings removed was reissued in the download in response to requests for it.

Regarding the high-level mercenaries in the vault -

Alex Speidel wrote:
they're there to dissuade PCs from going off-mission to the rest of the vault.

Regarding the shrines and doors in Part 4 -

Alex Speidel wrote:
don't skip the blue doors, just because it might be necessary if the Iroiveth fight spills out into the hallways later, plus there's a trap in H4 so it does matter how teams get between H2 and H3.

Regarding the Hacker's Curse trap-

Alex Speidel wrote:

I'm going to be nice and say that:

    * The Hacker's Curse on page 20 only affects one random item, not all items in reach, but that any item in that 60ft radius could be the target (clarification: one player at random makes a save for one item at random).
    * In Subtier 5-6, items of 6th level or higher get to make the save
    * Do remember that while one item is affected to start, anything it touches can become cursehacked

Note that the Emergency Triage condition can remove a curse from one item. Alternatively, remove affliction (spell level 3).

Regarding Action Mission 1 -

There are no stats for Denanne, assassins should target the PCs (starting with poison darts first).

Regarding Action Mission 2 -

The crates and the pile of waste are the same thing (to climb to the conveyor belt using an easy Athletics check).

Regarding the Mountain Eel's position on page 30 -

It comes out of the stream.

Regarding the trap in H6 of the final map -

The trap has a manual reset but Datch or Iroiveth could theoretically reset it after the 4 rounds of tendrils.

Regarding infamy for killing Datch -

Report what the table decided as a whole in the reporting conditions, but only give Infamy to the characters that actively participated/voted to kill Datch.

Regarding GM credit -

You can GM for character credit once in each replay tier (1-4, 5-8). GMs can hold credit to apply later if they don't have a character in-tier.

There is an open question on Iroiveth's stats being too low for Tier 3-4.

2/5 *

There no update on Iroveth 3-4 stats for the moment right?

5/5 5/55/55/5

Are the boons supposed to be by character or by player?

I mean you couldn't have someone in cornered rat that played in shades of spite

The Cornered Rat boon was cut and does nothing in this scenario.

I just started prepping this and ran into my first problem in trying to create tokens for roll20. Anyone know what a Apex Zuvak looks like? No physical description what a phase 2 one looks like. I can't find it referenced from another source.

I was coming on to ask exactly the same question, as I am looking for miniatures.

My Monster Vault for roll20, join the game and you can import the monsters to your table. Click on the monster, you get popup buttons, click the buttons they do their thing.

Thanks, I found something I thought they might be, but I like your tokens better for these things.

Did anyone who has previously run this have any cool Overseer content handy?
