A question regarding available downtime and crafting

Second Darkness

So, we've been wondering, my friend and myself, whether the AP is written so that there's enough downtime to pursue crafting both mundane and magical items?

Could someone please shed some light on this matter, preferably spoiler-free otherwise, so we might decide whether we should try to get any relevant feats or not.

There ought to be downtime during the first book, but later on, there's a pretty strong driving force that doesn't account for much (if any) time to relax. More so than some other APs, the books of the AP tend to pick up right where the last one left off rather than weeks or months down the line.

Your GM will be able to give you a better idea of how they expect to run the campaign, though. A GM who wants to could provide crafting opportunities at various junctures.

Broad summary: Book 1 is wide open for crafting. Book 2 is very much not. Transition to Book 3 is open for some crafting, but Book 3 is not. 3 to 4 is doable depending on how the GM wants to handle the transition. Book 4 would be rougher to justify. 4 to 5 and Book 5 are pretty much off the table. 5 to 6 is possible, but not by much. Book 6 crafting is pretty much impossible.

After Book 1 it is a pretty fast paced AP with stakes that are pretty huge and immediate.
