Healing Channel - Area

Rules Questions

Hey folks! I've read previous discussions and it sounds like most people are in the same camp on this item, but I wanted to get some fresh opinions:

When a mystic uses this ability to heal in an area, is the healing rolled and then shared equally between targets or does each target get the amount of healing rolled?

Also, are you considered an ally when the ability is triggered? I think most stuff specifically calls out when you are NOT considered a valid target, but I figured I'd get everyone's take on this as well.

Thanks!

Each target is healed the full amount.

In Starfinder you are your own ally, so abilities that affect allies but not yourself call that out. The default rule for envoy improvisations is an example of this.

Quote:
You count as your own ally unless an ability says otherwise.

No direct quote here, because you have to read the whole section. But essentially: If an effect covers an area (even if it has targets within the area) then it affects all targets at full strength unless specified otherwise.
