Hey everyone!
Does anyone have tips on the most thematically appropriate characters for this Adventure Path?
My players love to have ties with the themes of the adventure, but since this is the first campaign we play in 2nd edition, I am making some pregens for them to customize at their will.
As far as I know, some big themes in this adventure include:
- Dragons
- Slavery
- Personal freedom and moral choices
- Building a keep
- The six ancestries from the Core Rulebook (one for each module)
So after reading the player's guide, the only option that seemed immediately appropriate to me was a sorcerer with the draconic bloodline. I also think that a druid may be fitting, especially with the warg puppies being in the Citadel.
Do you have any suggestions?

A Liberator Champion is thematically very on-point, as would any follower of Apsu, though that has a lot of thematic overlap with the Draconic Sorcerer, so some other deity might be good.
I'd say another major element of the AP is conspiracies, and things not being what they first appear, and a character to play into that is good. The Truth Seeker Background is designed for this and a lot of characters could fit it.
I'd also say redemption would be a relevant theme, though less so than some of the others.
It's also helpful to switch some stuff up so different people have ties to multiple things.
If I were doing a group of PCs, I'd do something like the following:
Human Truth Seeker Liberator Champion of Sarenrae
Elf Haunting Vision Thief Rogue
Halfling Emancipated Animal Order Druid
Goblin Dragon Scholar Draconic Sorcerer

I don't think the 6 core ancestries is a big theme, per se. I think it's more that they wanted to show a bit of all 6.
Dragonic Sorceror is a great choice, but so is the Dragon Instinct Barbarian.
Alseta is a very relevant choice for a religious character. She's not in the player's guide because the book she was detailed in came out later.
If I was doing a group of PCs, I'd go with:
Elf/Halfelf Haunting Vision Cleric of Alseta
Dwarf Dragon Scholar Dragon Barbarian
Halfling Emancipated Thief/Monk Rogue
Human Truth Seeker Wizard (the local)

I'd also check out the player guide for the campaign. There are no spoilers in it and it offers some campaign specific background options. It is a free download from the paizo shop.
