Animated Object Construct

Rules Questions

Question I was hoping to have answered about animated constructs. If you create an animated object with flaws and gain cp, do those cp add to the total cost of crafting the construct or are those free cp. Ex: animated cape cp 1 standard cloth flaw for plus 1 slow flaw 3x for zero walk speed plus 3cp for a total bonus cp of 4, total of 5cp. Any help on this will be gratefully appreciated.

First, those flaws can't be taken multiple times. An animated object is slow or it isn't, taking one flaw three times isn't a thing. Your animated cape can wriggle along the ground like a snake at 20'.

I think flaw CP are bonus CP and don't count against the cost of enchanting an animated object though.

The main method states that the cost of the construct is one half of the CRxCRx500gp. Since unspent CP gained via flaws lower the CR of the construct at a rate that mirrors how overspent CP raise the CR. The intention seems to be that flaws dont make it more expensive. Otherwise there is no reason for flaws to grant extra CP. You could just overspend CP to get the same construct for the same price without the flaws.

Animated objects can gain more CP by applying flaws, which hamper the object but provide additional CP to spend on beneficial abilities. If the CP gained in this way is not spent on beneficial abilities, its CR decreases by 1 for every 2 CP conserved.
