If you could have five Pathfinder magic items here and now, what would you choose?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Here and now meaning in real life. And yes, the magic items would function somehow, though unless you personally can cast PF spells you might have difficulty activating items which require spellcasting ability. How would you get kitted out?

ONE IS ALL YOU NEED

Luck stone.

I assume no artifacts, because otherwise, I’d just choose the Starstone, touch it, and become a demigod.

So I’m going to go with the following. Magical Tattoo Ring of Regeneration, Magical Tattoo Ring of Splendid Security, Magical Tattoo Belt of Physical Perfection +6, Headband of Mental Superiority +6, and, contrary to what I had in my topic, I’d take a Magical Tattoo Furyborn Merciful Sapping Human-Bane Amulet of Mighty Fists.

Now just learn how to fight, get into legal fights (sporting style, such as martial arts tournaments), and win tons of money. Merciful allows me to make sure I don’t actually hurt my opponents, only knock them unconscious when they take enough non-lethal damage to now take lethal damage from any more non-lethal, and most humans are guaranteed to go down in a few hits. Plus, none of this is immediately noticeable, unless I take severe damage, in which case the healing would be noticeable. As for what the skill ranks would go into from the headband, I’m not sure right now. It doesn’t matter too much though. I’m sure I could come up with something reasonable.

The traveler's anytool seems super handy.

The Lyre of Building seems pretty awesome. Of course, then I'd need to learn how to play...

a Broom of Flying seems super fun

I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE a magic item that gives me permanent Prestidigitation. Do you know what that would mean? I could change the color of anything around me. That means green lights all the way all the time!

5 rings of three wishes

ring of feather falling,
any item of permanent flying.
water-breathing item (there are many to pick from). be good if it can lso negate sea depth pressure.
a set of light armor (or any kind of clothing that can gain armor enchantments) with ALL the available armor extra powers that just cost extra gold to add (Energy Resistance- Greater X all five,Etherealness, Determination etc etc - avoiding backfiring stuff) add +5 and other nice abilities to max it to +10 (invulnerable maybe?)
probably fast healing item(them earth boots for 5 fast healing?)

Greater Hat of Disguise, Ring of Invisibility, Ring of Regeneration, Boots of Teleportation, Mindmaster's Eye

Lyre of Building
Golden Carriage of Gaspar Longfellow
amulet of adaptation
Book of Marvelous Recipes
+1 umbral, igniting, sharding, thawing, concealed, adamantine sawback kunai of quenching, and training:deflect arrows.

Any item that guarantees a good night's sleep. This one perhaps: https://aonprd.com/MagicWondrousDisplay.aspx?FinalName=Hospitality%27s%20Ha mmock

Sun Orchid Elixir

Periapt of Health

a flying carpet

I don't think I need a fifth item if I have those four.

Shoot, can I drop the Ring of Invisibility for Sun Orchid Elixir too? I thought of it then forgot about it as I was making my list :D

Ring of sustenance. When I've got that I might be sufficiently awake to think of the other four.

Ring of Summoning Affinity (Archon)

Once per day you can summon a Harbinger Archon that lasts for 5 rounds. It has Truespeech and in addition to its Cure Light Wounds SLA it also has Commune. Normally that has a 10 minute casting time, but SLAs are always standard actions unless specified otherwise. So you'd get to ask a Lawful Good deity (or their agents) a couple Yes or No questions each day.

Specialized Healer's Satchel

While it's hard to say exactly what ability drain is in our world, I'm going to guess that all the worst diseases inflict it. This is one of the few non-spell ways to regain those ability scores.

Good call. Though I wonder how much weight I'd add if I was getting all my basic nutrients for free.

Just who do you want to charm or dominate anyway? Mind control magic is so easily abused...

But is it street-legal?

I'm more concerned with the flying part of the carriage, it's tops out below the lsa in many countries and terrains I'd practically need an FAA/regulatory lawyer as a copilot. Carriage licensing for road use is very similar to a car's licensing, and my submitted manure plan is just "magic horses" so that's all good. I don't know about the self driving aspect of the vehicle.

Probably some corrupt rich folks to fleece. It's just a tool to jumpstart living a life of luxury in a nice country home where I can play RPGs 5 days a week.

I'd get something that creates water endlessly.

Something that creates food endlessly.

A lyre of building.

Something that creates heat or electricity endlessly.

And finally a +6 int/wisdom/charisma headband for the worlds smartest person.

If I had access to magic it wouldn't be about me. I could help feed the hungry and create shelter and heat for everyone. I could help the world. Anything else is a complete waste of potential.

Five rings of wish.

Headband of Mental Superiority +6, Mantle Of Immortality, Medallion of Thoughts, Ring of Regeneration, Tome of clear thoughts +5.

This gives me a +11 to an already decent INT, +6 to WIS & CHA. I don’t age and can heal from just about anything. I can also read thoughts. This will allow me to take over the world without anyone being aware that I am actually in control. It may take some time, but thanks to the mantle I have plenty of that. The extra WIS will allow me to avoid a lot of problems, and the extra CHA will allow me to better influence people.

If that were remotely true the people living the high life on top of the world wouldn't fight so hard to keep it.

Or they're too stupid to realize it's not worth the effort. Besides, once you're at the top, going downward is often fatal.

Ring of Sustenance
Ring of Telekinesis
Mosquito Nursing Necklace
Monocle of the Investigator
Longarm Bracers
