Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

Hi,
Just wondering if I'm understanding things correctly:

One of Amiri's powers is that "On your Strength check or your check against a monster, you may bury a card from your hand to add your Fortitude skill."
Does that mean that on a combat check the player would get to roll both a 1d12 +2 (Melee:Strength) AND a 1d8 +1 (Fortitude:Constitution) if they bury a card from their hand?

One of Lini's powers is that "For your combat check, you may bury a card or recharge and Animal ally to use Survival + 1d4 plus the card's level and add the Animal and Melee traits."
Does that mean that on a combat check the player would roll a 1d10 +3 (Survival:Wisdom) AND a 1d4 if they bury a card or recharge an Animal ally?
Also, how does it help to "add the Animal and Melee traits?"

Thanks

Yes to both questions. Adding X skill includes X's dice and all its plus modifiers.

Some banes might be vulnerable or immune to certain traits, so they might affect the outcome.

Great. Thanks for the reply.

Yes, if the bane is "Resistant to Melee" for example, you would roll 1d10+3+1d4-4 due to the resistance.
And if the bane is "Immune to Melee" for example, you just cannot play that power.

Yes, there is also Green Faith Druid story bane who is Immune to Animal and Plant. So Lini can't morph into a bear or tiger and attack a fellow druid, for some reason :)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

If I remember correctly: looking at Lini's other powers should easily answer that question for you :)
