Ferocity can be used by players?

Rules Questions

Hi all

This is my first post, so don't be hard on me.

I have a question a regular player Fighter, Druid etc, can pick ferocity as feat or like an ability? and how can be done?

Ferocity (Ex)
A creature with ferocity remains conscious and can continue fighting even if its hit point total is below 0. The creature is still staggered and loses 1 hit point each round. A creature with ferocity still dies when its hit point total reaches a negative amount equal to its Constitution score.

Format: ferocity; Location: Defensive Abilities.

Thanks

Sovereign Court

Halforcs can pick it up through Ferocious Resolve, and sort of the same thing with (but better) Ferocious Action.

Half-orcs get a racial trait that gives them ability like Ferocity that they can use once per day.

At character creation a player can swap this trait, along with some other traits they normally get for the trait Orc Atavism which gives them ferocity among other things.

Some half-orcs have much stronger orc blood than human blood. Such half-orcs count as only half-orcs and orcs (not also humans) for any effect related to race. They gain a +2 bonus to Strength and a –2 penalty to one mental ability score of their choice. Finally, they gain the ferocity universal monster ability. This racial trait replaces the half-orc’s usual racial ability score modifiers, as well as intimidating, orc blood, and orc ferocity.

As far as feats go. Unless you're an orc or half-orc, I'm not aware of any feat the grants a character ferocity. There is however, the feat Diehard which basically does the same thing as ferocity. There is even a followup feat Deathless Inititate which removes the staggered condition that normally affects creatures with diehard and ferocity and even gives a bonus to hit.

Druids can make use of an ability called wildshape that allows them to turn into an animal as per the beast shape line of spells. At 8th level they can replicate the effects of Beast Shape III. This spell (whether through wildshape or normal casting) states that if the animal you turn into has ferocity you also gain that ability when you turn into that animal.

I hope this answers your question.

Full blooded Orcs just have it baseline, Half Orcs have a limited version, as mentioned. Scaleheart and Seascarred Skinwalker can grab it.
(Green Martians have it too, but...)

The Atavism totem gives it to Barbarians, as does an archetype specific animal focus, for Pelagic Hunters.
Might be a few other ways, but not many. It's an uncommon thing.

For everyone else, Diehard does a bit of a similar thing, if not as well.

It is important to note that any amount of non-lethal damage will still knock you unconscious when you are below 0 hp but still active with Ferocity (or any other means).

Unless you serve Zon-Kuthon of course. Flagellant is the feat that fixes that.
