Tengu Stalker

Advice and Rules Questions

I Have yet another path of war Character I need help with.

I want a couple of characters to chose from.

This one is a tengu Stalker to focus on Scarlet thrones (the idea is the come from the Zephyr’s name Maneuvers (obviously I plan to use the others ) but

I pitcher my character more base on a ref hawk than a crow like tengu

I Still want to use a katana keeping with an Asian flare

I figured DEX and wisdom bonus would work well and being a wisdom base class helps with The sense motive stuff from Scarlet thrones thatll be boosted.

I am just having trouble putting it togethet

I'll grab Scarlet thrones with a trait how ever I know I need a second path or at least should have one. What obd should u have.

Also would Bushi benefit me ?

Stalker has a d8 HD, Tengu have -2 Con which means you probably have about 9 + 5.5/level HP. A bit squishy, make sure you have a couple of counters at the ready and recenter when they run out.

Stalkers get quite a few known maneuvers and actually have to go down a second path, and can reasonably go down three. Riven hourglass and veiled moon are pretty good.

Bushi's first benefit is that you get those exotic weapon proficiencies you want. Tengu has those already of course. They gain access to the mithral current discipline and some feats and a maneuver-regaining trick to help with drawing and sheathing your weapon repeatedly as that discipline requires. You could take this class template but you certainly don't have to.

@AVR

What Should take for Maneuvers thatll help with mobility or ones that allow me to move and attack or attack in move. I want to he highly mobile

Mobility? We can do this.

At 5th level, assuming that you don't go bushi, you have 1 3rd 3 2nd 6 1st level maneuvers & 3 stances (1, 1, 3rd level) which might be

Stances: distorted clock (RH1), scarlet einhander (ST1), unfettered movement (ST3) (defence/utility, offence, mobility)
Maneuvers
1: minute hand (RH), ghost hunting blow (VM), scything strike (ST), inner sense (VM), red zephyr's strike (ST), strike the hourglass (RH)
2: sanguine barrier (ST), stopwatch (RH), rapid strike (RH)
3: time skitter (RH)

This assumes you don't have an ally to caste haste. Time skitter does haste for you. If you do, brilliant moon (VM) may be useful instead.

Most strikes are standard actions so attack/move or move/attack comes easily, and red zephyr's strike adds 10' move after a hit as well. Stopwatch is a counter which adds 5' movement. While hasted and using unfettered movement you're looking at a 70' base speed.

AVR. Cool.

What feats do you think I should take?

You don't get bonus feats per se but you do get stalker arts at levels 1 and 3. Killer's implements (katana) saves you two feats, phantom reach or precocious stride adds more to mobility.

For actual feats power attack is worthwhile if you don't dump Str. Tactical rush could add more mobility, extra readied maneuver gives you more rounds between recentering if you don't run out of counters, and/or you could get intimidate feats (if you don't dump Cha), or you could build towards swordplay style (if you don't dump Int). It really depends how you see your PC and the corresponding ability scores.

The teleports from Veiled Moon are great for movements. If you use feats for the Veiled Moon style feats, you can get even more teleport-y goodness (like 10' of your movement counting as teleports to avoid AoO or to go through opponents)

I see. I have 25 point buy. How would you do the stats .

25 points could give you a 16, 3 14s and 2 10s before racial mods. Put a 16+2=18 on Dex, 14-2=12 on Con, 14+2=16 on Wis. That leaves you a 14 and the 2 10s for Str, Int and Cha. Put the 14 in an ability that works with whichever feats you're going for, the 10s in the other two.

If you want to min-max a little make one of those 10s into an 11, the other into a 7, and raise Dex by 1.

@AVR

Ok after thinking about it.

Going to go with Stalker
Going to Dual Wield Kukri
Might go into Dragon Fury

I am Torn Between Regular Stalker and Brutal Slayer.

Any idea on a nonstandard race for me?

TWF has an uneasy relationship with mobility in PF. You can do it but you have to devote resources to doing so, it doesn't come for free. Honestly, the katana guy above is going to work better.

If you want a highly mobile character, you want a build that doesn't rely on full attacks, like a dual-wielder. A single weapon with maneuvers that are based on standard attacks would be best for mobility.

For a dual-wielder, I'd look at Dervish Defender Warder (Dragon Fury PRC builds off of this very well) A small race with a bonus to Dex works well with dual kukris. d3 damage versus d4 damage isn't big, and the +Atk with Dex to Damage will more than make up for that.
