Electronic Chronicle and Reporting Sheet

GM Discussion

I don't know if I am being dense / non tech savvy but is there any way of completing the chronicle sheets and reporting sheets without having to print them out and manually fill them in?

I have reduced printer capability due to lock-down measures

I have never done any formal organised play reporting or even tried so sorry if this is a really silly question

You can fill in fields on a PDF using Acrobat, Foxit, or other programs and email those out. That's what's usually done for online games.

Are there any free/cheap PDF editors out there. I am not sure I can justify shelling out for it really

Adobe Reader is free and has Fill &Sign functionality.

I much prefer the Foxit app to Reader

How to use foxit for this

Foxit is available for Windows, Apple, Linux, and it's free.

Extracting the chronicles is sometimes painful for people, and the DPI goes down with some PDF apps. To combat this you can import the PDF (only the last page) of the scenarios into GIMP at 300 dpi and export the chronicle at higher resolution than Adobe and Foxit.

File, print, change the printer to Foxit, print prints the last page as a PDF. If it loses any resolution at all I've never noticed it.

The (free) website https://www.ilovepdf.com/ can also provide some additional functionality if you want to do extra things (extract a single page to turn into a handout, add watermarks, etc.). It's been one of my go-to's for quite awhile, now.

Printing with an option like Foxit or many other pdf software usually produces the chronicle sheets with the best visual fidelity and a pleasantly small file size.
