Vital Seed Beast lifespan?

Rules Questions

My question is simple, is the animal created permanent?

Vital Seed, Beast

Source Starfinder Armory pg. 125
Level 4; Price 650; Bulk —

Description

"As a standard action, you can squeeze a beast vital seed and place it on the ground or throw it (range 20 feet). A Medium First World beast grows from the seed instantaneously as if you had just completed casting the 3rd-level version of the summon creature spell. Rather than obeying your commands, the creature is initially friendly toward you."

Vital seed generic flavor text

"Bioengineered to grow specific chemicals and cellular structures, even those that replicate animal or humanoid flesh, vital seeds come packed in tiny capsules of First World soil to make them grow at alarming speeds. The specific effect depends on the purpose for which the seed was bioengineered. Vital seeds can grow livestock and plants, replace missing organs, and perform many other useful tasks."

My reading of the flavor text makes me think that they persist otherwise how viable is livestock that does not stay in stock.

As if you'd completed a 3rd level summon critter spell makes it sound like its sticking around for a few rounds. A permafriend for 650 credits seems ridiculously low.

So, while the creature may be permanent, it is only friendly to you rather than automatically obeying commands. And it is probably only going to stay automatically friendly for the duration of a normal 3rd level spell. After that, only nice to you if you were nice to it.

That is my first crack at ruling on that one.
