need some suggestion to help improve one of my char

Advice

Hello, thanks for reading and giving me advice ...
and sorry for the bad wording/writing

i'm playing on a server wich is simuling a city, with multiple game master and no fixed team.
and so i created for the first time a char all alone ...
yeah i don't know too well the game mechanics and all so i have some difficulties playing some time.

and so here i began a drow rogue with 20 stat point.

After some background writing, i attributed my stat like this :

STR 13
DEX 18
CON 8 (...cause i'm pretty stupid and did not know i would do some quest based on cursed sickness.)
INT 13
WIS 11
CHA 15

(i compted the species stats bonus)

with this, i had of course all my species traits

+ 2 traits
(i took [adopted: hearts of the montains] and [Reactionary]
i know that adopted is not available for drow but ... background vise it was justified

+2 feats
([point blanck shot] and [precise shot]

and i did some mission... some month and one death/réincarnation later

i'm now lvl 8 ... the result of the reincarnation wasn't that bad i just got smaller with more HP.

i'm now at :

STR 12
DEX 21
CON 12
INT 15
WIS 11
CHA 15

as a halfelin

with 4 lvl as rogue and 4 as warrior

i took some more feats ...
quick draw
combat reflexes
Dodge
Mobility
Spring attack

some traits :
survivalist
finesse Rogue (only at lvl 8 ... because i'm kind of dumb and until now i was playing with a two handed ada sword ... please don't judge me it was to follow some background of my char ...)

so here i am trying to do some nmg +/- 8 without dying while having a char wich have good points ... but is generally outmatched by other char and deal almost no damage (with bow i didn't try her new short sword yet.)

but well that's my situation... it's crapy and kind of creepy too.

so i have some idea but i don't know what to choose and what would be good ... so here they are :

- my stupid mind told me "hey why not taking a deep into magus ..."
so i looked at the class some archétype and all but i think it's kind of late to take another deep in a third class.
plus it would be to obtain some spell like [invisibility greater] and some other (but it's like minimally 5 lvl too long)

- take TWF feats at next lvl wich is rogue like ... but the char isn't very fan of having two weapon

there is also the fact that i don't know if using a sword in the main hand and a wand in the second and is considered as TWF or not...

- doing some stuff with rogue talents but i have too much otion and not enough experience to know what can give me good survivability and usefuleness... because yes i can most of the time have my char sit in a corner and look at the other do the quest
i saw some interesting stuff like the use of bomb like the alchemist with the talent of Bomber

i also plan to take some stuff and enchantments :

- have the agillity echantment applied on my short sword to have some more damage to it (wich is most likely going to hapen)

- find a way to have long arms throught potion or spell idk.

- have more move speed for spring attack and to apply flank more easily

So you have four levels in Rogue, and four levels in Fighter?

Are you allowed to retrain?

Is Unchained not allowed?

no retrain an yes unchained is allowed... but i didn't looked at it and took base rogue like i said i'm in a crapy/creepy position

Okay, yes that's pretty bad.

I'd take another level of fighter to get Weapon Training if I were you. Then you qualify for Gloves of dueling and the Advanced Weapon Training feat.
This means you can choose one Advanced Weapon Training option (AWT), and you'll take the Warrior Spirit option.

Weapon Training and Gloves of Dueling adds +3/+3 to attack/damage.
Warrior Spirit allows you to add a +3 enhancement bonus to your weapon, or subtract a weapon ability from that amount. You'll use this to apply +2 and Bane to your weapon.

So if you're normally using a +1 Short Sword, you can buff it into a +3 Bane Short Sword. Since you're choosing the Bane ability on the fly, you can also choose what creatures it affects. When attacking those creatures your weapon's enhancement bonus increases by 2 (up to a maximum of +7), so your +1 Short Sword transforms into a +5 Short Sword. You deal +2d6 damage in addition to that.

So effectively you add +7 to attack and +14 to damage. Which is quite a lot.

If Wonderstell is thinking what I am thinking, your high Dex and low strength cry out for Dex-to Damage, and Unchained Rogues have a lovely ability to to Dex-to-Damage called Finesse Training.

Are you allowed to take anything 3rd Party? I'm thinking of Deadly Agility, Path of War .

You are getting 2d6 Sneak Attack Damage. How are you locking in your Sneak Attack Damage? You are already have Dodge and Mobility. I recommend you take Canny Tumble and Circling Mongoose. With Canny Tumble, if you successfully Tumble to avoid Attacks of Opportunity by moving out of a Threatened Square, your opponent loses his Dex Mod to AC, so then you get your Sneak Attack Damage. Circling Mongoose lets you Full Attack while Moving around a single opponent: nice, not great, but if you were thinking of 2 weapon fighting anyway, and you already have Dodge and Mobility anyway, the extra attacks will be nice.

Given the choices you have locked in, I think I recommend that your next Feat be Canny Tumble, so you can start locking in that Sneak Attack Damage. I recommend your next 2 Levels be in Brawler with the Snakebite Striker Archetype then take a level in Rogue. Your next Feat should be Weapon Finesse, so you can start using your +5 Dex Mod to your Attack Roll instead of your +1 St Mod. Then take Deadly Agility if you are allowed to. What I'd recommend next depends on if you are allowed to do that, and what weapon(s) you would use.

i didn't looked on the warrior side so yeah your idea isn't that bad Wonderstell
and i was already planing to take the agility enchant on my sword to get +5/6 to my damage.

could this go with AWT warrior spirit?
with the dueling glove this would give me a +3/+8 attack/damage
and the warrior spirit add on ...
or maybe they just can't go together ... i don't know

i already have weapon finesse trough a rogue talents
as for how did i lock the sneak attack. .. well i can't really do it
since i'm a little squishy ... i didn't want to reincarnate every 3/4 missions ...

so i was kind of looking for way to go behind my ennemy trough invisibility or by using shoes of ligntning leaping / boots of speed

trough your two proposition i can see some stuff coming out and will continue reading new suggestion... if there are =)

as i read, i though of maybe combining a little of the two idea... cause there is idea wich i found good in the two

so hum what if i take two more warrior lvl this way when my char pass lvl 9 she gets her fifth lvl as warrioir wich grant her
weapon training and with the lvl 9 feats i take AWT
with some stuff to go with like the glove of dueling.

then at lvl 10 i take a new lvl as warrior and have a new feats and go with circling mongoose (or canny dodge but i think in my case circling mongoose come first ... maybe) tel me what you think of it!

You can add the Agility enchant with Warrior Spirit, which in your case (12 Strength, 21 Dexterity) would mean +4 damage since you're already adding your strength bonus to damage.

So in total:
+3/+3 from Dueling Gloves + Warrior Spirit.
+2/+6 from adding +2 Agile.
=
+5/+9 to attack/damage.

But the thing is you can just buy the Agile weapon ability with your normal gold. This allows you to add Bane with Warrior Spirit and get both effects. Which would result in +7/+18.

===

If you're worried about surviving I'd become a full-time ranged character. This would also mean more damage since Warrior Spirit with Bane has good synergy with a bow. By taking Rapid Shot/Manyshot you'd shoot a lot of arrows which all benefit from Bane.

It's a shame you can't retrain since your feats are going in a lot of directions at once.

ho hum when i was talking about "agile" it was trough the weapon and not with AWT

as for becoming a full ranged char, i can take one of those two feats as trained feats via the weapon to gain some time... right ?
because i would still need 3 feats : AWT/Rapid shot/Manyshot
and i would still need the warrior lvl

if i understood corectly that is.

Yup, that would work.

But even without Rapid Shot/Manyshot you'd still deal more damage with a bow than your Short Sword. You can full-attack with your bow for two attacks thanks to your BAB almost every turn, rather than using Spring Attack with your melee weapon for one attack.

ok thanks i will see what i can do
