Murder's Mark

Recruitment

1 to 50 of 103 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | next > last >>

Hi all, I'm gauging interest in a Murder's Mark module.

Description of the module:

Everyone in the fishing town of Ilsurian is excited when the legendary Umbra Carnival rolls into town—even if the show is run by members of the much-maligned Varisian ethnic group. With strange and exotic beasts, scandalous performances, games of chance, and all the other fun of a traveling fair, who could resist such an opportunity for entertainment?

Unfortunately for both the town and the circus, however, entertainment isn’t the only opportunity the carnival presents. Hidden within Ilsurian, a guild of thieves and scoundrels has been waiting for just such an occasion to launch a campaign of theft and murder—leaving the strangers from the circus to take the blame. With tensions mounting between locals and performers, and the body count rising on both sides, it’s up to the PCs to uncover what’s really going on and clear the circus’s name before the entire town erupts in a firestorm of ethnic violence.

If enough interest, I'll post up creation guidelines.

I’d like to hear more.

Grand Lodge

i'm interested. are we doing this PbP or online on Roll20 or such, and PFS sanctioned?

Surely interested if PBP here and non-PFS.

I'd like to echo Ouachitonian here

me too

I had this character ready for a previous Murder Mark module that closed down before the adventure properly started. I would be glad to bring him to the table :)

Game would be non-pfs and played on this site.

Creation:
25 point buy
Going traditional, Core races and classes
2 traits, no drawbacks
Alignment, no CE
Max starting gold

1 person marked this as a favorite.

What about; archetypes, HP, racial options?
Stat Limits (to stop min-maxing)

Archetypes: All paizo allowed
HP: Max
Stat Limits: Range is 10 to 18 before racial adjustments

Background skills?

Nope

Now this would be in a grey zone
Would Alternate classes be allowed (Looking at Ninja)?
As they are like a Class Archetype, but are also a new class.

I would like to try and get in on this. I am thinking an Elf Cleric of Shelyn or Desna could be fun for this. After work, I'll put something together and see if I make the cut.

(if anyone else had their heart set on cleric, I can change)

Cheers!

I'm more or less planning on either; Ninja, Bard, or Monk.

RHMG -
No to ninjas.
Also, for classes that have an Unchained version, use that one instead.

Since I'm not a fan of Unchained, that drops Monk.
Looks like It'll be a Bard.

Would an enlightened iroran paladin of perfection be acceptable? I have a good one, just have to switch the race and adapt for the rules here. :)

Here is a good question.

If the game is good goes to the end, will you as GM continue the party through more?
As I'm figuring if I should plan things for later or just focus on the module itself.
As if we do go past this module I want to have the character setup for it.

I modified the stats to fit a 25 points buy. Aside from that, the creations rules are the same as my previous campaign's, so Selkyon's crunch should be ready!

As for the fluff, I already have a background written for this character, but one that fit the requirements of our previous GM, who wanted the PCs to keep secrets from one another that related to their past/goals/rivals.I have it written in Selkyon's profile, but can modify it if it doesn't meet the requirements for character background in this module.

Paladins are acceptable.

If the module goes well to the end, then I would be interested in running some other modules.

So it's in the air,
and that is fair.

I'll then balance out my plans some for getting into the Shadow Dancer PrC.

I'm interested. Sounds awesome.

Here is my submission for the game. She is not complete, but will provide enough to get a sense of who the character is and if she would be a good fit for the game.

I still need to flesh out more of the background and add the crunch, but the general idea can be realized.

Here's my submission to the game - Kandoo is a half-orc and an enlightened paladin of Irori; a monastic holy man.

I'll be keeping the recruit thread going until Sunday night and announce the party on Monday.

Jasmine is pretty much a ready submission.

Submissions So far;

Selkyon Elf Ranger
Ghandaliae Elf Cleric
Kandoo Half-Orc Paladin
Jasmine Half-elf Bard

Wow, what about 24-28 hours left and out of the 9 whom were interested,
there are only 4 character submissions...

Seems the GM will have an easy choice if there are no other submissions...

We kind of make a good and balanced party, to be honest, but I was hoping to see more applications - especially a full arcane caster.

A Rogue would also be very useful for the group I believe - I was planning to submit an Eldritch Scoundrel but... Level 1 means very little options on such a character :P

I will try to hash it out though - if we continue play onto other adventures, would you allow retrain of the level 1 feat?

Hello! I would like to submit a human wizard. Tom was made for a different game but was not chosen. He is an old scruffy man that has lived in and around Ilsurian for most of his life. Something like a Carnaval is what is needed.

Let me know what you think. I do need to pick one more trait and a minor stat change to make it fall inline with your requirements.

My character Raziel would looks something like this (bare bones) - I see him as a newly arrived in Ilsurian, after perhaps an odd job as bodyguard for a merchant caravan.

After hearing about the Umbra Carnival being in town, he would stick around to have a look at why this one is so hyped.

Raziel:

And another Wizard, though one more roguish in demeanour.

I'd like to submit Radovan Masolanic, Wizard extraordinaire and conman. He's a very atypical Wizard in that he would also be able to function as a party face.

Background:
Born to a poor family living in Korvosa, Radovan's life was never easy. As a child he spent most of his time on the streets doing what the other children did: pick pockets. While he was quite skilled at this less than noble trade it was his skill at getting out of trouble that helped him most. While others would get picked up by law enforcement, Radovan would simply talk his way out of it. Many guardsmen came to think of him as a helpful young lad who couldn't possibly do any wrong.

As he grew older things got more complicated. Others of his age became proper thugs, moving from picking pockets to robbery and worse. Radovan couldn't stomach those kinds of things and besides, he lacked the brawn. He also was convinced he wouldn't last in any prison setting so he made sure to avoid getting roped into the nastier kinds of criminal activity. Instead he became a conman, pulling of card tricks and other games to fleece people. It was the victim of one such cons that changed his life forever.

This woman was one of the teacher's at Korvosa's prestigious Acadamae. Recognising both cunning and raw talent in Radovan she made him a proposition: either enrol in the Acadamae with her backing or be turned in to the guards. The choice was an easy one.

The years at the Acadamae weren't easy. While he survived the first few years of drudgery without much issue, mostly because he was used to hardship from his old life, the years after weren't that kind. Eventually he dropped out half a year before his final exams, not because he was afraid he'd fail but because he was sick of the cutthroat politics of the place.

Since then he has picked up his old life as a conman once more. Aided by his magical skill he tricks people out of their money all across southern Varisia and yet he always is a welcome sight.

The crunch is all done. I want to flesh out her background a bit more, but I feel she will be fun character to play.

Submissions So far;

Selkyon - Elf Ranger
Ghandaliae - Elf Cleric
Kandoo - Half-Orc Paladin
Jasmine - Half-elf Bard

Tom - Human Wizard
Radovan - Human Wizard
Raziel - Half-Orc Rogue

Just realized that Selkyon didn't have any traits. I chose Tactician and Wild Stride, and added them to the crunch.

Guessing the GM is busy deciding on the characters....

Have you got room for one more submission.... I'll kinda rush it in hope.

Added some background, not the best I've done, but Paizo ate my first effort. Plenty to tweak if required.

I hope we do! :)
