Are there any plans to create a galaxy map for the Starfinder setting?

And just how much of the galaxy is explored/known?

Probably not , drift travel isn't like hyperspace or normal FTL it isn't linear so its pretty much random parts of the galaxy if not multiple galaxies that have been explored I think.

I think the tricky part about that is that the idea of Near Space/the Vast is based not on physical distance but ease of travel through the Drift, so the actual relative positions/distances of different systems is not a clear matter.

That and there are ~250 billion stars in the milky way. The biggest and baddest empires and threats in the starfinder galaxy control at most a dozen systems.

So any map would just be a bunch of dots labeled 'vast' and 'near'. Mostly useless.

Couple thoughts:

1) Why would you want the game rules to come down hard on this? Why not let each gaming group decide that for themselves as suited for their particular game?

2) What would be the benefit?

A galaxy map would sort of go against Paizo's unstated policy of not "filling in the entire map" of their game settings. At most, we'll get a rough, unmarked overview like the continents map they made for Golarion
