Damage dice when casting spell from a Staff(Pathfinder)

Rules Questions

The rules on staves are clear on DC, Range, Duration that if the players level exceeds CL8 of the staff that you use the casters level.

We are discussing if the amount of damage done is also based on the players caster level, would a level 10 wizard using a staff of Fire create 8D6 fireballs or 10D6 fireballs when expending two charges from the staff of fire?

"Not only are aspects of the spell dependent on caster level (range, duration, and so on) potentially higher, but spells from a staff are also harder to dispel and have a better chance of overcoming spell resistance."

Does the ...and so on.... mean damage effects as well?

Unlike with other sorts of magic items, the wielder can use his caster level when activating the power of the staff if it’s higher than the caster level of the staff.

If your caster level is higher than the caster level the staff was made at, use your caster level when determining what the spells effect is.

So if you are CL 15 and you use a staff to cast a fireball, it will do 10d6 because fireball is capped at 10d6 despite your CL being 15.

10d6

The staff of fire uses either the wielder's spellcaster level or the staff's caster level, whichever is higher. In this case, the wielder's spellcaster level is 10.
