I never played Kingmaker but this sounds very exciting. Looking forward to seeing more updates on this.

I'm looking forward to this. I've never played WotR before, so this could be a neat way to experience the AP on my own. I already eye some key NPCs from the AP itself, as well as our token Iconic for this game.

OK. This is awesome. Mythic Adventures!!!

Can't wait for it! Now I'm dreaming about all 1st Edition APs in CRPG! Haha!

(And please let us create por our own magic items now.)

HYPE!!!

Very excited about this. Given that they are incorporating the mythic rules, I suspect that this game will be built with Pathfinder 1st edition rules, rather than 2nd edition rules. However, I would love a statement one way or another.

I never purchased Kingmaker and never will anytime soon and let me explain why, I do not see any character of mine ever wanting to be in charge of any large area of land that becomes a country or an empire. Not even my paladins.

That said, I do want to play wrath though... unless I dont have the money then it might take a while...

Kingmaker was kickstarted. Is there any indication of something similar for Wrath? I missed the Kingmaker on and have been kicking myself since.

Quite looking forward to checking this out!

Can we get a Starfinder RPG pc game next?

I'm so excited! Kingmaker was awesome so this one will be even better!!

I do wonder though why not port it over to 2e?

Because it's a video game, it's not actually going to be straight up P1 rules, it's going to be heavily inspired by them.

Owlcat has been working on Wrath for over a year now and PF2 wasn't available for them to use. Since they already had the engine built for PF1, it made some sense to use that for Wrath.

That artwork for Wrath of the Righteous though ... absolutely stunning! (I took a screenshot)!

So just realized something: This game needs cool opening cinematic about origin of the Worldwound

I mean come on :D I've been sad about how old school crpg had cool opening cutscenes, but none of recent modern crpgs have had budget for cool cinematics in intro!

Any word on if this or Kingmaker will make it to consoles. Heard a while back that kingmaker would, but haven't heard anything since.

They're currently working on a console version of Kingmaker. If that works out fine (both technically and financially), I'd assume Wrath of the Righteous will come to consoles sooner or later as well.

Glad to hear that it will be PF1!

Was hoping for Iron Gods but this is cool too

Scarab Sages

Yes!!!

Should convert to a crpg better than it did to ACG. I'm looking forward to this with proper tentative excitement.

I JUST got Pathfinder:Kingmaker (PC) this week, of all the coincidences. ;P

Enjoying it very much, brings back my days of NWN fun.

Was never really interested in playing the Wrath of the Righteous of all the AP's I bought, (Sounded cool, but I think the extreme difficulty of the Card game version turned me off?)

But I would try this.

Although, Skull and Shackles and/or Iron Gods? YES PLEASE!
I'd be in the full-price line for that! :)

are either of these coming to ps4 or switch?

I REALLY excited about this! Wrath of the Righteous is the perfect AP for a CRPG. I can't wait to smite some demons! I just started playing the "endless dungeon" DLC for Kingmaker to get a feel for the game and I'm having a lot of fun! I've got to clear out my backlog of unfinished games before I can start the campaign.

I think next year is going to be all about Cyberpunk 2077, Pathfinder: Kingmaker and a random FPS game.

Now if we could get an "Uncharted" style adventure game set in Starfinder...

In my opinion, Wrath of the Righteous has one of the best stories among the Adventure Path. The video game format allows them to fix issues people had with the mythic rules, which is a win. The NPCs in the adventure path were absolutely fascinating, and I can't wait to see them fleshed out with more dialogue and possible subquests.

Overall, I think we're all in for a treat with this one.

Frankly I'd be okay with a Starfinder Tactics game using the XCOM 2 engine.

I'd be down with that as well!

It would also be cool to have a game where you build you own *empire* up from scratch. The empire could be corporate, criminal or whatever but you get to build your own bases, settlements, industrial facilities and lairs. So basically Fallout 4 in Spaaaaaace.

I am so stupidly excited for this.

I imagine the Kingmaker modding community is, too. It's nice to know that even if the game doesn't launch with turn-based combat support, some community hero is likely to mod it in like they did for Kingmaker. :)

Also wow - taking a very different approach with mythic paths, it seems, with things like angel and lich being options. Very curious to see how they handle that.

I'd say Starfinder game more among likes of Shadowrun would be cool, XCOM reboot games aren't RPG enough :p

It could also work quite well in the Shadowrun Returns engine.

LOVE IT, was waiting for the guessed Ironfang AP but this will work much better I think. Fixing the broken Mythic rules and hopefully at some time in the future get it converted to PF 2nd Ed with a comp book is also hopefully in the cards

:)

Tom

My frustration with first game was partly due to 1st run missing some clue you're supposed to find, and thus not revealing quest locations, and failing timer. Then facing wonky/hard kingdom management events/interface, which they later patched, and I think was also impacted by 'stacking' difficulty settings which were both increasing DCs. Then after those restarts, my computer died while getting into major dungeon (barbarian tomb I think) so I lost my savefile and would have had to restart again. At that point... I had some fun after patch fixed things, actually enjoying the challenge of making it thru Vordakai dungeon only bringing 1 days rest of food (supplemented by later find, but still forcing extreme endurance with limited rest/refresh), but wasn't going to replay 1st part of game again for 4th or 5th time.

I think they learned their lesson from that though, and maybe will have better funding since they proved their audience in first game. So looks promising, hopefully they raise the bar further. Just putting more attention on user interface subsystems will help alot, from inventory to minigames like townbuilding and kingdom management (which might be rebellion management here). I think they will have more confidence to diverge from AP mechanics from the start rather than ape them directly despite TTRPG/CRPG differences (which was source of kingdom management problems originally).

An interview I found with game devs actually gives pretty good insight:
https://venturebeat.com/2019/12/05/pathfinder-wrath-of-the-righteous-is-poi nting-the-way-for-indie-studio-owlcat-games/2/
The core devs are definitely real Pathfinder fans themselves, which is something great to bring to table for adaptation like this.

Quite honestly, I'd personally wish that they'd continue to use the 1E engine until they start doing actual 2E AP's. But then I am a "Remainer", so that's probably to be expected. ^^

I'd rather have Hell's Rebels as a city based AP, since CotCT spends so much time outside the city and is rather heavy on the dungeons at the end.

Hmm, in order which AP I'd most like to see adapted, it probably goes:

1.) Return of the Runelords (which probably means they'd have to do a Rise of the Runelords/Shattered Star/Waking Rune mash-up before that, though).

2.) Hell's Rebels

3.) Jade Regent

4.) Curse of the Crimson Throne.

I would love it if they put it on PlayStation, otherwise I have absolutely no interest in it (nothing against the game or anything, I personally hate playing videogames on a computer is all).

I think a Playstation port of Kingmaker is planned to be released soon, and I would expect they would eventually also do so with WoTR, which sounds like it will have further interface improvements (specifically saying dice rolls/re-roll effects would be directly shown on-screen) which was somewhat of a weak area in Kingmaker to be honest (some of this was shown in scrolling text log, but that doesn't really seem ideal for Playstation console usage, not sure how they will handle that). It's definitely not the sort of game designed for console play from ground up.

I pray to Asmodeus that they'll add a turn-based mode. The turn-based mod for Kingmaker should be more than proof enough to show that it can work very very good, even with the option to switch between both types.

Also, for the love of all that's unholy, let them increase our walking speed outside of combat. Even the patched version feels way to slow and awkward.

Hoping for more companions than the last one and more good-aligned ones this time as well.

Owlcat hasn't formally announced dates for console versions of Pathfinder: Kingmaker, but THQ Nordic, the parent company of the game's distributor, Deep Silver, revealed in a financial report that it's planned for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.

Why? Do you want a controller? Couch play? Nothing about either one of those requires a console. I play on my PC all the time using my PS4 gamepad.

Couch/TV gaming? Output to a TV using HDMI.

Don't want to deal with patching and OS updates? Well, go back to PS2/Xbox OG generation consoles or earlier. Online consoles means online updates.

Face it people, all consoles now are just simplified, specialized PCs.

For my part, I hate having to use a controller, there is no precision in these things. And playing "on the couch"? Never, this completely ruins the immersion for me.

And basically technically outdated the day you buy them.

I'm now fully expecting somebody to go "life was so much simpler before all these computers and consoles, we played real games and not this electronic nonsense".

Don't fail me, Beardy Bubbas.

I'd like to point out that my computer is over five years old(I can't remember how old exactly so I took minimum number), it wasn't made from best possible parts back when I bought the parts, but its still capable of running newer games nowadays :P It wasn't even made from super expensive parts compared to how ready made gaming computers waste money on shiny keyboard lights

Investment in good computer isn't just about being able to play games, its also helps you do work when your computer doesn't take 30-60 minutes to boot up and then another half hour to log in after putting in password
