Items available in Breachhill?

Age of Ashes

I'm a player in AoA and my GM is usually really busy so I thought I'd try and give him a hand.

We just got back from Citadel Altaerein in Book 1 and we're wanting to do a shopping spree, so we asked him basically what items would be readily available to us in town.

I thought I'd reach out to the community for suggestions on what items can be found in each of the shops in town.

Any advice I can pass on to him would be great, maybe a roll of items on a table? Not sure how that works exactly.

Thanks!

I whipped this up for my game. I based it off Breachill being a level 4 settlement and assumed the town would have the following items available for purchase. Ignore my prices, that was something specific to my game and might not be applicable to your GM.

Permanent:
4th Lv-
Runestone - Striking 61gp 7sp 5cp
3rd lv-
Staff of Fire - 57gp
2nd lv-
Brooch of Shielding - 28gp 5sp

Consumables:
Lv4:
Invisibility Potion: 19gp
Lv3:
Lesser Healing Potion x2 - 11gp 4sp
Juggernaut Mutagen -11gp 4sp
Oil of potency - 6gp 6sp 5cp

There isn't any specific rules in place for how to come up with these lists as of yet, so unfortunately there isn't anything specific to guide us yet. I also assumed most mundane things can be purchased in town for my game.

Thanks.

The other player in my group wants to buy a cold iron weapons.
How rare or hard to come by do you think that would be? Or silver weapons for that matter?

We could probably commission them at least.

While it's definitely up to the GM, it seems reasonable that they would be offered at Breachill. Not sure if this was a dev post, a rule in the Core book, or a fever dream I had, but the town's level sort of sets the "cap" on items available in town.

Not a fever dream! James Jacobs dino-post.

Cool!

And Breachhill is level 4?
Would that mean all items level 4 and below are available? Or is it still random level 4 items and nothing level 5+ will ever be available?

I think an aspect to consider is the PCs are going to become an increasingly potent and dominant force in the area. So, like
Asurasan said, base it off the settlement being a level 4. That said, without spoiling anything, I suspect you'll be able to arrange for more powerful items to be delivered from places you've been. One location in one of the later books definitely offers A LOT of opportunities.

Dark Archive

Personally,
For my run, I am going to keep things pretty limited.
That being said, if the PCs want to have certain things made for them, they will be able to commission them (as long as they are level 4 and lower)

For uncommon and rare items, I might require a side quest of some sort to retrieve a formula or what have you.

I'm running two AoA campaigns and have told both groups that Breachill is a small town, but with a history of serving the needs of the Order of the Nail. Both groups are still pretty early in the first book, so I've told them that they could find any basic simple or martial weapons in town, and some low level potions and such. But I've told them that Breachill will be a location that will remain important, so they can invest in local shops, both with money and in building relationships with the owners, and that doing so will allow them to order away for increasingly potent items (at my discretion both as to whether the shopkeeper can find it and how long it will take to get to town), and eventually expand the available stock. Frankly, I expect that my players will find most of the coolest stuff that they use through loot, but if someone really wants a piece of gear from the Core Rulebook and has the money for it I'm not going to stand in their way too much.

Liberty's Edge

My rule is going to be:
* any common item up to level 4
* select uncommon items up to level 4 based on GM discretion and/or random factors (DC 15 flat check, successful Hard Diplomacy check DC of the item's level, that kind of thing) - possession of the Bargain Hunter feat will likely make these checks easier
* nothing else unless specified by the adventure text

I made a thing.

I kept the Uncommon items to the side. but apparently the rules in the upcomming GMG say that uncommon items of up to two level below the settlement level would be available.

I added some Percentage Tables to roll for higher level items that I think are fun and not terribly unbalanced.

I spread out some items among the temples and such to make it a bit more interesting.

No idea how to differentiate Posandi Bros. from Tuskhead Stoneworking.
