Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

We’ve all seen and heard the jokes about the over zealous Bard or the lucky/unlucky Cleric who ends up with a demon/deamon/devil lover/spouse, but in actuality is this doable? I know you can make deals and gain favors/boons but can you actually have a spouse of the mentioned races and still be active party member without constantly coming into conflict with the rest of the party? If you’ve been a GM or Player who has experienced this, please share your experience or advice.

Outsiders are immortal. Price of such wedding is usually the PCs soul.

What's a couple years of adventuring of their spouse before a demon bride/groom comes around and says "time to come home dear", snatching their wedded beloved deep into pits of hell/abyss? It doesn't have to interfere in any way, but be an epilogue for a character after a campaign is finished.

Of course it also *can* be an important story point.

I played a Drow Antipaladin that had a sucubus as his fiendish boon. He wad also his “wife” in disguise and he used her to manipulate the surface town he worked in as the captain of the guard. (He walked around pretending to be a Paladin (passive bluff of a 40 so able to lie my way to any basic stuff) and using her detect thoughts ability I was able to manipulate even more.

Sure, why not? Still not as squicky as the summoner who married his eidolon.

What about trying to raise the spouse up or free them from their bonds? Would you have to choose a specific deity or would you just have to win over a deity in general?
