Hey Starfinders, as I was looking over the biohacker and the "injection expert" class feature I noticed it says you are proficient with all injection weapons as long as it naturally has that property without it being modded on in any way. So at level three when we get weapon specialization, is it possible to get it for injection weapons?
I feel like this makes sense for the biohacker, but no idea if it's possible, or was just overlooked.
The bio hacker does address specialization for injection weapons at level 3.
"WEAPON SPECIALIZATION (EX) 3rd Level
You gain the Weapon Specialization feat as a bonus feat for each weapon type this class grants you proficiency with. For weapons you have gained proficiency with only through the injection expert class feature (page 43), rather than the normal Weapon Specialization benefit, you instead add half your character level to damage you deal with those weapons."
Gotcha I missed that. I can see why it's half character level rather than full as well as the injectuon expert rules allows you to pick more weapon types. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
There's a theorem, Arms Expert, that at 8th level can give you full weapon specialization with all injection weapons. It's very useful if you're using or might use a mix of longarms, advanced melee, and operative injection weapons. If you're limiting yourself to one weapon type, like longarms, feats might make more sense if you're short on theorems or don't want to wait until 8th level.
My plan was to use all kinds of weapons and try to be a melee vesk biohacker with the toxicology field of study. I want to use long arms to start fights give some buffs and debuffs before rushing in with the toxicology boost on myself.
