Liberty's Edge

Back in the day, one could make armor out of a bulette's hide.
Does anybody know if there's any rules detailing bulette armor for 3.5?

I looked in the "Arms and Equipment Guide"......nada.

is it buletteproof?

None officially, that I know of, but I've always thought that 3rd edition dragonhide was unexciting, and would gladly use the 'dragonhide' rules for armor made from gorgon-plate, bulette-hide, behir-scale, etc. and have actual dragonhide be even more special, with some weak energy resistance or something.

In Dungeon Denizens Revistied Book,on page 7 is a sidebar entry about armor made from Bulette plating and hide.

Sovereign Court

Dragonhide was expanded on a little in the Draconomicon 3.5, along with some other weapons and gear. I like when my players are inventive, so I wouldn't make it too difficult to make bulette armor. Alas, I don't have any rules sources on this beyond the above.

As far as I know, the only information in the AD&D Monster Manual was something like "you can make magic shields out of a bulette's belly plates" or something like that. No details.

I'm not sure why I would need an official source to tell me "yes, it's O.K. to make a magic shield out of a turtle's shell/titan's pelvis/earth elemental's nutsack".

It was in a Dragon somewhere.

Oh, and thanks for being the wind beneath my wings as usual.

I'll have to give it a look.

Damn, I wish they had numerous quantities of Paizo books at the game stores.

Right on; I'll check HPB for that one...
