PC without own shadow (stolen by Shadow Collector) in the Shadow Plane. Consequences?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Hello, GM here, one of my players lost his shadow (fey Shadow Collector) and he has Resist Level Drain (Ex) - so he did not feel the need to retrieve it back. Soon my group will venture into the deapths of the Shadow Plane. Any ideas for possible consequences of going there without your own shadow? How are vampires doing here? I am open to any interesting ideas, thank you.

As described, there is no particular interaction with a persons shadow and the shadow plane at all.

What I would probably do is add some flavor, maybe with a minor mechanical effect but nothing too horrible. By first thought would be that on the shadow plane the character gets his shadow back, but as an anti-shadow. Basically a slightly glowing area where a shadow would normally be. I'd go for a couple of minor, offsetting mechanical effects, -2 to any stealth rolls and a +1 to the very first attack roll against any native of the plane (as the anti-shadow is distracting to them.)

Or you could have his shadow return and take revenge? After all, the character effectively abandoned it. The shadow might not want to seriously hurt the character, but punish them. Perhaps after a bit they could even reconcile :-)

I love this.

There's the implication given the permanent negative levels that the "shadow" being taken is a portion of the creature's essence, so it's a bit like abandoning part of your own soul.

Shadow Lodge

The Shadow Collector gets mad and starts sending whiny, demanding letters?
The denizens of the Netherworld notice something's missing from this new visitor and make fun of him?

Thank you for your advice! Negative shadow, thus resentment from natives and finally battle with his own shadow - sounds pretty cool.
