Reach build fighter

Advice

What feats and what build would you do for a reach build fighter?

Glaive? (why is the deadly still 1d8?)

Guisarme (I loved trip)

Ranseur (disarm worth it?)

What feats?

Disarm is kinda weak this edition, so I'd avoid the ranseur.

Guisarme is good if you want to build yourself around tripping, otherwise I'd go Glaive if you're interested in dealing damage, or shield + flickmace if you're looking for a more control oriented build.

Where to go from there kinda depends on which you pick.

Can a human fighter 'use' a flickmace or would there need extra feats to grab it?

Unconventional Weaponry gives you access to an uncommon weapon from another ancestry/culture and if it's an advanced weapon lets you treat it as martial for proficiency, so that would take care of everything.

I'll just point out that you can go dual flick-mace, with Double Slice and the like.
Flick-mace also has prone on a crit, and fighters will crit a decent amount. Polearms are just move 5' on a crit.

Also, if you pick up "knockdown" and "improved knockdown" that basically gives you the trip trait and then some. So you can skip the Guisarme at level 4.
Probably take lunge, lunge stance, and combat reflexes as well. Giving you a nice zone of control.
Whirlwind at higher level.

Fauchard (p.92 LOCG) - 1d8, deadly d8, reach 10 ft., sweep, trip

Ooooo, I hadn't spotted that yet. Thanks!

We have a Winner

Is the Fauchard's deadly supposed to be d10 and not d8?

I don't see why. Glaive and lance are both d8 base, deadly d8.

I am thinking of Fatal.
